Chapter 6 by Kokorock176 Kokorock176

How does the tournament go?

The Champion Remains

(A/N Credit to Basilisk754 for the rule idea)

When the trio arrived to the tournament, Sokka realized that the large number of people would make it hard for Aang to meet any of the competitors. He decided to come up with a plan using the rulebook. He went back to the page labeled Gaoling and began writing.

New Rule: The best earthbending teacher for Aang will be able to find him.

He closed the book and put it away, getting an odd look from Katara. "What were you writing?" she asked.

"Don't worry about it, just taking notes," he said, dismissively. He'd tell her about the true nature of the rulebook later, but right now was not the time to explain.

They watched the tournament progress, Sokka getting super invested in the Boulder, and getting crushed when the Blind Bandit effortlessly defeated him. Once the battle was over, the Announcer asked if anyone else wanted to try challenging her for her belt, and Aang stepped into the ring.

"Hey, you're a pretty good earthbender, have you considered taking a student?" he asked politely as he got close to the arena.

"Heh, you're cute," The blind said before turning to the crowd. "Do you guys really wanna watch two girls fight?" she asked, deriding Aang to the applause of the crowd.

"I don't wanna fight, I just wanna talk," Aang said, ever the diplomat.

"Sounds to me like I'm fighting a big chicken!" she said before launching him into the air using earth bending. Of course, Aang's Airbending kept him in the air longer than a normal human, a fact that should have worried her, but something about him was strange. She could still sense his presence despite his lack of connection to the earth. "Not sure how you're doing that trick Twinkletoes, but I can still 'see' you!" She launched a pebble at him to test her theory, and heard the grunt from him getting hit in the stomach.

"Oww!" he groaned as he dropped to the ground. "How did you see me?" he asked surprised.

"Dunno. Don't care. You're going down!" she smirked as she formed a wall and launched it at him. He jumped over it as she expected, and she launcehd a rock up to collide with him in the air. He fell down to the floor and she kept walking closer to him. "Heh, you really do need a teacher Twinkletoes, you couldn't even earthbend a pebble could you?" She placed a foot on his chest and stood over him triumphantly.

"Does that mean you'll do it?" Aang asked excitedly.

"Out of the question," she said, her voice sounded different than the persona she had put on beforehand. She sounded almost afraid of something.

"But-" Aang got interrupted by the girl launching him out of the arena.

"Bye bye Twinkletoes! Try facing me again sometime!" she boasted as she left the arena with her champion belt.

"That didn't go too well," Aang said as Katara and Sokka ran to him.

"I think this makes her the second potential teacher who took you down today, how did that happen?" Sokka asked

"I don't know, but I think she's the right one. I just need to find her again," Aang said, shaking his head to remove his dizzyness.

"Sounds like we're gonna be looking for the Blind Bandit," Katara said as Sokka reached for the rulebook in his purse again. Katara eyed him suspiciously, and Sokka tried to act conspicuous. "We can search in the morning, let's go back to camp for now."

(Once again, if you have any suggestions for potential rules, feel free to send them in the comments. If I like it enough, I'll try to find a way to include it in the story.)

What comes next?
