The second wave

The Brimeons attacked more aggressively, we saw more casualties this time. My prowess was unmatched to my human allies, as I struck and swung my weapon, killing many foes. The only other that surpassed me was the minotaur, his large mass and strength made it easy to dispatch many enemies. Elle surprised me at how natural she adapted to the horrors of war. She killed many opposing mercenaries, they may have underestimated her, but that was their fatal mistake. I felt more attracted and in love with her than I ever thought possible. Wolvir will try to mate with great warriors in the understanding it will improve the bloodline, making even greater warriors than the parents before them.

This battle lasted longer, and started to fatigue many around us, but this also meant the enemy was stating to lose their energy too. The battle became increasingly more disorganised, arrows flew in all directions, clusters of fighters attacking all around themselves. Ahead I could see a small group of knights holding the Brimeo banner. That could make a good trophy. I felt it best for Elle to stay at my side. I carried her in my back, she held on tight around my neck as I swerved around and pincer manoeuvred to the banner knights. My speed was too much for them to react in time as Elle and I attacked them almost unaware. There were four in total. I used all my strength and guile to find the soft fleshy throat of one knight, and squeezed hard, crushing his windpipe. He struggled for breath as I dropped him to the ground. The large intimidating figure of a wolvir so close made the other knights lose focus and their fighting spirit. As one of the knights held their arms in surrender, Elle pierced her sword in the armpit, pushing forward to puncture vital organs inside the knights body. He fell to the ground, rapidly bleeding out to ****.

I ran toward the knight holding the banner, and with immense power, I swung my great-axe to break through his armour and cause a fatal wound in the knights chest. The banner was discarded. The last knight still standing, rushed at me without restraint, his attacks undisciplined. I dodged the attack and the knight carried on forward, not stopping themselves in time. I struck the back of the neck half way in with my weapon, another knight fell dead.

The knight with the crushed throat was still on his knees, gasping for air. Elle brandished a dagger, yanking the head of the knight upwards, she ran the blade across his throat, slicing the flesh open to release a torrent of blood.

I picked up the banner, thrusting it into the air as I roared. This caught the attention of the battle below. I ripped the banner to pieces showing enemy of their loss. This renewed the will of our allies. It didn’t take long to finish killing the remaining soldiers and mercenaries.

Dusker, leader of the steel malleum approached me and Elle after the fighting had concluded. He had long flowing black hair, a stocky build for a human. Rough features that showed he had been in many battles. Sharp grey eyes that looked like they could pierce your soul. He spoke in a gruff voice.

“I believe I have you to thank for the turn in this battle.”

“We did what we needed to,” I said, making sure to address Elle also.

He nodded at both of us in appreciation.

“Keep this up, and I’ll make sure you’re both handsomely rewarded.”

“Will do, sir.” I said respectfully.

“Don’t address me as sir. On the battlefield, we’re all equals. I like what I saw, a true soldier, or warrior in your case.”

During the next battles. Dusker involved myself, Elle and Robbis more with constructing the war plans, letting us give more opinions and ideas.
