What dress will Marie be to wear?
Just this walk alone is an ordeal
Yvaine was beaming; she finally had the prince's bodyguard in her grasp as well. All the servants feared this witch because not only because she was in charge of organizing the shifts and managing the cleaning of the rooms, but she was also suspected to be a spy who collected all the facts or news of anyone caught insulting the Prince. It was a rumor, there was no proof, but the servants feared this woman because she managed the nobleman's servants with an iron wrist, as if she were in the army.
This “beautiful person” felt envy and resented Marie, for the simple fact that she took orders directly from the Chief and she could say nothing to her, and then always dressed as a man: unheard of. The time had come to humiliate and make her understand who she was and what her place should be. As they were walking away a servant passed them, as he saw the housekeeper he greeted respectfully, then saw Marie barefoot and with her head down. Whereupon he stopped and asked her:
<< Marie how come you are barefoot? Aren't you cold? >>
Upon hearing his name she looked up and recognized the cook from Villa Sarzi. She made an effort to smile and told him, << No, I'm not cold, I just miss the time when I was on the ship so I also asked Miss. Della Valle if I could go barefoot and she said yes. >>
The housekeeper who already wanted to humiliate Marie did not miss the opportunity. << Very true, and not only that she told me that she no longer wants to wear men's clothes and wear a new outfit. Go call the tailor and tell him he has to come to fix a dress for Miss Marie. >>
At that order, which was not peremptory, but such he knew it to be, the cook put wings on his feet and headed for the tailor. There he explained that Marie had grown tired of dressing as a man and had a dress to model; he would find it in Miss. Della Valle. She explained to him that she had even seen her barefoot. The two wondered what was going on, when the tailor, thinking that it was not good to keep the housekeeper of this villa waiting, headed for the place he had been shown.
“I wonder why Marie asked for me, all right it's late afternoon, but wouldn't a female seamstress be better? Well surely if that witch called me it will be something that going to town doesn't make much sense.” And so with these thoughts the tailor set out.
In the meantime that the cook ran to warn the tailor, the two women arrived at his office. Here Yvaine left the door open and began to stare at the feet of her new prey. The piratess was like on the gridiron she wanted to take her down but tried to calm herself down.
<< Oh good! Now pull off that blouse you can't be seen dressed like a man. >>
Marie opened her eyes wide: << Here without even closing the door is an **** of power, I guess you're enjoying yourself right? >>
The housekeeper smiling mischievously: << Of course I'm having fun, come on pull off your pants too that when the tailor arrives the dress you will wear from now on must be ready with little work. >>
How mean can the housekeeper be?
