3. Marie and French Fashion - Introduction

Hi guys this third act or chapter is the one that playing it I enjoyed the most! I would like to remind you that what is reported here is the result of a two-year campaign of playing the Lex Occultum trpg.

But let's get to the crux of this introduction.

This chapter is for me to explain what it is all about when it comes to the French fashion of the period near 1785, the year in which Marie's adventures in Berlin are set. Substantially without giving you a treatise on fashion history, it is enough for you to know that at that time a very beautiful fashion departed from France and for the men of the time a real joy to behold.

The corset was in some cases so low that it was impossible for the nipples to be in or covered. In other cases where embroidery such as silk or lace was applied to the dress on these “very deep” necklines it created a beautiful game of see-through.

Some noblewomen openly flaunted cleavages that gave scandal by letting everything show, others followed the fashion but covered with nice wide shawls or fine scarves to give them too the classic game of see-through.
