Chapter 10 by Wulfblade Wulfblade

What's next?

The rogue tries to trick the bard

ROGUE: Ugh, okay fine. I hoist up my pants and ignominiously retreat from the back room.

DM: The barmaid waves you off with a smug smile: ”Better luck next time, hihi!”

ROGUE, a mischievous light bulb going off: Wait… ‘next time’… Okay, I’ll return to the table to regroup with the others.

DM: The barmaid follows you out the back room and returns to the counter, while you weave your way through the busy tavern. The bard and sorcerer are waiting for you at the table, drinks in hand, waiting to hear whether whatever scheme you had planned succeeded.

ROGUE: I sit down with a sigh, and explain to my party members I attempted to use the Chime of opening but I didn’t get the item to work. ”I tried, but I guess I didn’t use it right. I’m not exactly a master of magic, after all. I think it needs a more… delicate touch. You know, someone with the arcane finesse to really make it work?” And I hold up the chime and glance over expectantly at the bard.

BARD, catching on: Ohh you sneaky bitch.

DM: Haha, cheeky! I think that’s gonna be a Deception check from you, against an Insight check from the bard.

What do they roll?
