Chapter 13 by Delta12 Delta12

Who's that Pokémon?

It's Riolu?!

I was shocked to see that the Pokémon I was looking for was a Riolu, and it was a good thing I found it. The poor thing was **** with multiple injuries all over its body. As I examined it, I took a record of its injuries. There were several scratches and cuts on its arms and legs, several bruises including a black eye, but the most disturbing of these injuries were two deep scratches that were on its back. Realizing the severity of its injuries, I knew I had to perform some form of treatment for it. I set my bag next to it and got to work. I pulled out several potions and began applying them all over Riolu's body to disinfect any wounds. Especially, the two deep cuts on her back.

"Okay. With any luck that will hold you until we get back to the Pokémon Center," I said.

"Vee. Vee," Vivian asked worryingly.

"I don't know how this happened, but that's unimportant. What's important right now, is to get this Riolu to the Center, then Nurse Joy can fix its shell and treat its injuries properly," I explained to Viv. I reached into my bag, grabbed some bandages, and started to wrap its shell. As I did, I saw some of the injuries heal due to the potions. Once I was done, I pulled out an empty Pokéball and used it on Riolu. Lucky for me, the ball opened up and pulled Riolu inside.

"Okay, Viv, let's get out of here!" I said.

"Eevee!" she shouted back and jumped on my shoulder.

I ran back to the Center as quickly as I could. I didn't even know how much time, but I busted through the doors of the Center and ran to the counter. Nurse Joy rushed over to me.

"This Riolu needs immediate care," I said handing her the ball. She escorted me into the emergency room as I explained the condition I found Riolu in and what treatment I performed on it. She was horrified by Riolu's condition and immediately took it to the surgical wing of the Center.

-One hour later-

I was waiting at one of the available chairs in the emergency room. I was praying that Riolu would make it.

"Excuse me," I heard Nurse Joy say to me.

"How's Riolu doing?" I asked standing up.

"You save her life," she said.

"Her?" I asked.

"Yes. We have identified Riolu as a girl, but more importantly, using a lot of potions ensured that she would survive," she said.

"Good. That's good to hear," I said.

"Most of her injuries have been treated right now, but the main issue is fixing how much damage those deep cuts on her back did," she said.

"I've worked with Professor Oak since I was a kid and studied all sorts of Pokémon, and I think what caused the injury on her back was caused by a Sneasel's claw," I explained.

"I agree. Sneaseles only have two claws on their arms, but wild Sneaseles don't live around this area, and if they did they would be super rare," she explained.

"The more likely reason for the Sneasel attack would be by a trainer ordering the attack, and then after the attack the trainer abandoned her. My question is, who was her previous trainer?" I asked.

"I know. Thanks to the tracking app, I needed to place the trainer's name into the program to activate it, which is a shame. Despite the bad feeling I got from him, I had a feeling he would become a strong trainer," she explained.

"Who's the name of the trainer?" I asked.

"That's the thing. I ran the Trainer ID and compared it to the database, the person who held that ID number died over a decade ago," she said.

"So, someone used a dead trainer's ID to bypass the system. What about the other tracker, you said it was Viridian Forest?" I asked.

"It is, the problem is the tracker lasts for a day. It is only used when I believe a Pokémon's life is in immediate danger, and I was right," she said somberly.

"Now, the question is, who could have done this?" I asked as I scratched my chin in thought.

That was when I felt Nurse Joy's hand on my shoulder, "Don't worry. Once I'm done taking care of her, I'll report to the Pokémon League about this. Hopefully, they can do something about it. Why don't you head to your room to get some rest," she suggested. I nodded my head in at this suggestion and went back to my room.
