Making friends and the hunter's guild

I woke up to Henry getting out of bed, noticing I was awake he said "I can't seem to not wake you up can I?" as I raised my upper I responded "how could I not wake up when my favorite pillow suddenly walks away?" he chuckled before crouching down in front me and pulled me into a kiss, breaking our kiss Henry stood up and got dressed while I stretched, we headed downstairs and saw Marcus and Cassidy cooking together seemingly for 8, I asked if our guests were up yet, Cassidy said they were, I said I wanted to talk to them and Henry said he was going to help with breakfast so we kissed and I went outside.

Walking towards their camp I saw them relaxing and chatting, David saw me and waved me over, heading over I sat down, we exchanged pleasantries before I asked "I wanted to ask you, how much is that core going to sell for?" he thought for a second "Dungeon cores are pretty valuable but the republic put out a bounty for all dungeons cause of how many have been popping up so all together, probably 300 silver." I whistled "damn nice pay day." Willis said "too bad we agreed to give you 40%" the priest slapped the back of his before saying "she saved the lot of us so be grateful, plus she could easy take the entire payout but is letting us keep most of it so shut up." he apologized, I chuckled before turning back to David and asking "I also wanted to ask more about the hunters guild, if you don't mind telling me?" he looked a little surprised probably because it was common knowledge before saying "sure thing, the guild has halls spread across the country that take requests and depending on the request were either paid by the people asking for help, the government, covered by the value of the monsters parts, or some mix of the 3, also the guild an A through F system for ranking members, our party C rank meaning we can fight 4 tier monsters and 2nd tier dungeons, you'd probably be B ranked on your own, any other question? "how hard is it to join?" he thought for a second "not that hard as long as your strong, usually you either get tested by a veteran adventurer or you get sent with a party to prove your skill, if your thinking about joining then we can recommend you and with our story you'll probably get accepted without a second thought." I replied "sounds good, should probably get it done soon rather than later." he agreed and suggested I travel with them back to the nearest guild, I told him id talk with my partner and get back to him before he leaves, having said that Henry walked outside and yelled to us that breakfast was ready so we all got up and headed to the house.

We each grabbed out servings was sat outside to eat again, we made conversation and they told some stories, as we finished up breakfast Marcus, Henry, and Cassidy grabbed the bowls and brought them inside, I followed them inside and asked if they had any issues with me going with our guests and joining the hunters guild, Marcus and Henry looked thoughtful but Cassidy seemed to freeze, after a moment she seemed to unfreeze but switched to being upset, Marcus and Henry seemed to notice this before she asked "your planning on coming back right?" I walked up to her and pulled her into a hug before saying "I'm lucky as hell to have found you 3 so there is no way in hell I'm not coming back." she reciprocated my hug and seemed to calm down, after a minute I pulled away and smiled at her before turning to Marcus and Henry who seemed happy and asked if they had any problem with my going, Henry didn't have an issue with it and Marcus seemed to like the idea because of how profitable it could be.

We talked it over some more before I headed outside and told David it was all good and id be joining them, I then asked when we would be leaving which he said wouldn't be long so I went back inside and talked to them for a while until David knocked, answering it he said they were heading out so I went upstairs activated my polymorph and put on my clothes, saying goodbye to the family we left.

During the walk to down the sorcerer introduced themselves telling me his is Avery and the priest said her name is Samantha, with introductions done we made idol chatter before reaching town, in town we asked for Jack and quickly found him waiting for us, giving him the good news he thanked us all and I told him I was heading to rikmen with them, he wished me good luck and we headed out of town.

we walked for 4 hours and passed by a few villages and hamlets, stopping at a small town we had lunch at an inn before heading back out and reaching rikmen 3 hours after, reaching the large town in the afternoon we decided to just head to the guildhall and get it over with, reaching the guildhall I saw it seemed to double as a tavern/inn.

Entering the guildhall I saw a barkeep behind a bar on the left and a secretary in the back right with multiple tables across the floor with a handful of patrons scattered around, me and David walked over to the secretary while the rest of the party grabbed a table and ordered drinks, reaching the secretary David pulled out a paper and handed it off to the secretary saying we have completed this contract, she took the contract and after a few minutes of back and forth she grabbed the guild master who after looking at the core looked surprised and asked if what he's seeing is true.

David said "its as it looks, a tier 3 dungeon core." the guild master was a little shocked then asked "did your party raided the dungeon alone?" David shook his head before saying "to be honest we were completely overpowered and only survived because she" gesturing to me "saved us and almost single handedly defeated the dungeon master." he looked at me wide eyed "is what he's saying true?" i replied "David's party cleared out the dungeon itself but got defeated by the boss, I was waiting outside because they didn't want to pay me to help with the dungeon when the marksman over there managed to let me know what happened so I went and killed the boss." the guild master thought for a moment before saying "even so goblin dungeon are notorious for the power difference between the boss and minions so defeating the boss alone would put you at B rank but considering this is your only known feat I'll offer you the rank of C for now, is that acceptable?" agreeing to it I went into the guild masters office while David finished up with the secretary.

After spending a while filling out paperwork and answering questions the guild master filled out a piece of paper then cast a spell on it before saying "there all done, this paper is you monster hunter license, it has all the information any guild hall needs to give you appropriate work and is proof that you are a member of the guild if anyone asks, the spell I just cast will protect the paper from damage or forgery and I will say this once DO NOT LOSE IT, any questions?" I asked "I live in a village east of here and wanted to know whether I would be requested for a job or if I had to come to rikmen for work?" "that depends on the job, right now we dont have a local B ranked party, but between you and David's party we can now start working such jobs, plus we don't have many C ranks so I'll send for you if any B or C rank jobs pop up but those aren't often, for more regular work you'll have to come to rikmen." nodding I thanked him for the info.

Finishing up with the guild master I left his office and saw my companions drinking and talking having already split up the reward, joining them at the table David handed me a large purse and said "the reward was 300 silver so here's your 120." thanking him I noticed Willis was practically crying and the other were ignoring him, I bought a round for the table and we enjoyed some drinking, talking, and gambling with each other and other patrons, by the end of it I was up another 30 silver and Willis was actually crying, finally I rented a room at the guild hall for the night and crashed.
