Selena Agrees

Selena's face twisted in anguish.

"So we have a deal, fair Selena?" Giuliette asked, a cold smile playing on her lips.

Selena didn't respond immediately. Her mind was racing, trying to find a way out of this horrible situation. Giuliette was ruthless and cunning, and Varga's life was at stake.

Finally, she looked up at Giuliette, her eyes filled with tears. "Deal," she whispered hoarsely.

Giuliette nodded, satisfied with her victory. She turned to leave the room, but not before giving Selena one last ominous glance. "Don't go back on your word," she warned, "or I will make sure Varga never wakes up."

Giuliette didn't wait for a response. She left the room, the door slamming behind her, leaving Selena in silence. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she realized the cruelty of Giuliette’s plan. She had to do whatever it took to save Varga's life.

The hours ticked by, and Selena waited anxiously, her heart pounding in her chest. Just as she began to lose hope, the door opened again. This time it was Javier who entered the room, sitting on the bed beside her.

"Selena, my child," he said, his voice heavy with sadness. "I have been informed, and I have to say, I am disappointed in you. You have disgraced our family and betrayed our trust. For that, I can't help but feel that banishment would be the only appropriate punishment. Your ship shall sail tomorrow.”

Selena looked into his eyes, seeing the pain behind them at being **** to do this.

“Please let me ask for forgiveness,” she said. “Not for my sake, but for my father, your brother.”

“I could never forgive you for this, Selena.”

“Please, I’ll do anything. I’ll… sell myself into slavery. A lady of House Reyes will fetch a good price over the sea.”

Javier looked at her, surprised by her request. A daughter of House Reyes had never sold herself into slavery, but he could see the desperation in her eyes.

"Very well," he said, a sombre expression on his face. "Go ahead and beg for my forgiveness in the name of your mother and father. But don't expect it easily."

Selena sank to her knees, her tears falling freely as she begged Javier to have mercy on her. She spoke of her father's love for the family and the sacrifices he had made for them. She promised to find a way to make things right and asked for one more chance.

Javier looked at her for a long moment before finally nodding.

"Very well," he said again. "You have until tomorrow morning to make arrangements.”
