Trouble on the Other Side

The feeling of a jump was always a bit strange to Jessica. She didn't understand even an iota of the science behind it. One second they were there, the next they were light years away.

"Pills you junkie." Liz immediately ordered, the Navigation Officer reluctantly taking the amnesiacs. From what Jessica knew the woman had once 'forgotten' them and had needed to undergo extensive therapy for Scope Addiction to get over her desire to do it again. "Ah hell."

"What is it?" Jessica asked. Instead of responding Liz opened a holographic display in front of her. On it were two battle cruisers, one designated IAA and the other UCA. The distance only minutes away from their current location.

It was clear even to Jessica's untrained eye the UCA craft had gotten the worst of the exchange. The damage reports on the side showing it's weapons and engines had been knocked out. Yet it hadn't been destroyed. The IAA having just locked in their boarding tubes to it's airlocks.

"This is Captain Dakota Smith of the UCS Vanguard. We are under attack by an enemy battle cruiser. Any UCA ships please respond. The enemy is attempting to board. We'll hold out as long as we can but we've taken heavy casualties. Any UCA ships please respond." The message was clearly set on repeat.

"We went to stealth right away, they may not have seen us. Especially if they're distracted." Liz informed Jessica. "I'm afraid her chest size wasn't included in the notes. Should I send an interrogative?"
