Prepare to Engage

Jessica took a deep breath before tapping on her comm.

"Jane. I want everyone suited up and ready for non-lethal standard in three minutes. The squids have been kind enough to give us another glorious day in the Corps."

Everyone was assembled four minutes later and Jessica began the briefing.

"The Navy got themselves into a bit of a fix. We're going in to bail them out. We've been pre-authorized for deployment. I doubt the brass thought we'd use it but we're not letting them swipe a battle cruiser under our noses. We've got to seize engineering and the bridge. This is capital ship so one or the other isn't enough. The majority of the crew will be busy trying to get themselves a little piece of the colonies for themselves. That gives us our window."

"Once we have control we'll do one of two things. Either we'll take the fight to them from behind or we'll use our new toy's guns to fire on and destroy the Vanguard." Jessica announced. She'd needed to quickly verify that plan's viability with Liz. Destroying the Vanguard would of course mean it could no longer take part in the campaign but that would be the only way to ensure all the boarders were 'killed' if she didn't want to risk getting bogged down in a fire fight. Normally a friendly fire scuttling would mean the entire crew beyond the bare minimum necessary to operate it would be enslaved. A sometimes necessary evil.

In this case however they'd all be immediately recovered at the same time as they were enslaved. There would probably need to be a little bit of arbitration about it but Liz had sounded confident and Jessica trusted her.
