Unexpected Company

Dave's knee-jerk instincts told him to throw whatever it was that was attacking him away from him and defend himself but he quickly checked himself from doing that instead. He stared at his attackers face as she savagely sunk her sharp little teeth into his arm drawing blood, snarling at him... for it was indeed a she. His initial thought that it was child popped back into his mind as he firmly but gently caught one small wrist as she tried to strike at him. Flashing dark eyes met his from behind long, limp unwashed hair. Most startling of all was the small, snarling face... a green face with pointed ears peaking out from behind her hair.

His arm hurt but not badly and while her face was fierce as she drew blood, struggling against him hitting and kicking with tiny limbs... it was the fear in her eyes he noticed that gave him pause. Terror. Fight or flight. He let go her small wrist, which she immediately used to punch him, as he wrapped his arm around her and started stroking her head.

"Shush..." he said softly, smiling. "It's okay... You're alright... We're alright, now. There's nothing to be afraid of. Nobody's going to hurt you. I promise."

The small woman's eyes showed shocked surprise that slowly changed to relief as he gently stroked her hair and made comforting noises... then as she stopped fighting and bitting down to sad tears as she started to cry. Bawling her eyes out.

Dave gently and slowly put his arms around her as she trembled and sobbed in his arms. "There, there... You're safe now. Nobody's going to hurt you, little... uh little lady." It had been hard to tell under all of the mishapen rags she wore but now that they held each other, because she was now holding him too with a **** grip as she twisted her little hands in his clothes her trembling body pressed tight to his, he noted she had significant curves concealed under the mishapen rags and was definitely a woman. That thought made him uncomfortable so he tried his best to banish it from his mind. He didn't know what she'd been through but right now he was determined to help her and what she needed was- "I promise you that. You're safe with me now." He held her gently, repeating, "I promise."

They stayed like that for long while until she'd finished crying. He felt some of the tension gradually leave her body and then- *Loud empty stomach sound*

He smiled and couldn't be sure as her face was hidden from him buried in his shirt but her ear tips seemed to flush like she was blushing and he nodded. "Alright," he whispered. "Let's eat. Do you... want to let go?"

He felt her tighten her grip and he nodded. "Understood," he said slowly picking up the flashlight with one hand and shifting his grip with his other arm. "Hold on tight now, OK?"

She paused but nodded and he slowly rose, holding her then carried her out of the barn towards the house. He felt her tremble and tried his best to comfort her as he carried her towards the porch. "We're just going inside. This is my home. You're welcome here. It's a safe place. I promise. Understand, little lady?"

She slowly nodded her face still hidden and so did he as he stepped up onto the porch and opened the door to carry her inside like a child. *Or a tiny wife,* said the nagging voice in his head.

"It's not like that," he mumbled trying to banish the thought as he felt, and tried not to think about, the swell of breasts pressed against him or the round bottom and curvy hips in his arm. She was obviously in trouble or running from it and afraid. What she needed was safety, reassurance and food. She needed help. "Don't we all," he mumbled.

"Mmm?" She made a small questioning sound as she snuggled even closer and sniffed.

Was she sniffing him? "It's not important," he said softly, carrying her over the threshold. "Mi casa es su casa. Welcome home, little Lady."
