Break time (Sarah's sadistic scheme)

Sarah had paid close attention to proceedings even when she hadn't been giving dares, and she had noticed a few things. The most useful thing for her that she had seen was Miranda's apparent dread when she had been told that she would be dancing for Matt and John, instead of just for Tom. If she held the same disdain towards them that Sarah did herself, then she could have been a very useful ally indeed.

The other thing that had not slipped Sarah's attention, was that there were now more empty glasses in the room than full ones. As a good host, she couldn't let that stand, and a pitstop to refuel would give her adequate opportunity to further her scheme by talking to certain, select, party-goers.

Miranda had been about to draw a name, when Sarah stopped her. "Wait a sec Miranda," she said, drawing her friend's attention with a raised hand. "I don't know about you guys, but I could use a refill," she raised her empty champagne flute as she spoke," how about we take a break?"

Near universal approval met her suggestion, with the others taking up their empty or nearly empty cups, cans, and glasses. Miranda looked a little put out that she was being denied the chance to give a dare of her own, but Sarah quickly reassured her. "Don't worry babe," she told her "It'll still be your turn when we get back."

"Oh, alright," Miranda sighed, making a show of her feigned disappointment before grabbing her own bone dry glass. Everyone was on their feet now, with John and Nicole whispering amongst themselves, Tom looking absentmindedly at his phone, and Matt shadowing Sarah once again. It seemed that everyone was waiting for her to take the lead. It was her house, after all.

"If you need a pee break, get it now," she announced, like a schoolteacher about to herd her kids on the fieldtrip bus. "Drinks are in the kitchen, and the game's back on when we're all back!" Heeding her words, people began to drift in all different directions, some of them heading to the kitchen down the hall, while some others took to the stairs to find one of her spacious abodes many toilets. Matt, of course, stayed close to her, making Sarah turn up her perfect nose like she had just smelled something rotten.

While this break served an essential purpose for keeping everyone drinking and preventing anyone from pissing themselves, it also gave Sarah perfect cover to pursue her ulterior motive and to potentially bring someone else into her nerd-removing conspiracy.

All she had to do, was decide who she would talk to during the break.
