Snap!

Will was panicking. What happened before when a wish backfired? Was it his turn, or still someone else's? Right, Sally had burned a wish and then it had been his turn. But what could he say?

"Excuse me? What the fuck did you just say?" Officer Stevens asked. Will might have taken away her suspicion about the missing person case, but it clearly didn't make them immune to scrutiny.

Gwen stammered, "Uh...I just meant, like...uh....Will?"

It finally clicked in his mind. He just had to hypnotize her, "I wish officer Stevens would freeze for 10 seconds." The would be long enough. As soon as he spoke he snapped his fingers and threw his top aside. Just in time officer Stevens unfroze and fell into a trance.

"What the fuck?" Gwen asked. Right, he forgot she didn't know about his power. Oops. He turned towards her until she fell into a trance too. "Gwen forget everything since you made your wish. You'll believe it worked and officer Stevens has to obey me now. You won't notice any time discrepancy or question anything unusual. You will stay in trace until I wake officer Stevens."

He turned to the cop now, "Come all the way inside and close the door behind you," Once she'd done that he started his own interrogation, "Why did you come here? Who tipped you off? What do you suspect?"

She answered of course, honestly. She had come after a report by Marv's kids. They seemed to think something weird was going on. They were right of course, but wrong about exactly what was weird. How could they know after all. He also got Stevens to tell him how to get himself out of this mess, and to agree to bury it for him.

He was about to send her on her way when he stopped to really look at her. He finally saw past the uniform and to the woman underneath and realized something. Officer Stevens was fucking gorgeous. He rubbed his chin, it might be a good idea to have a cop in his roster, wouldn't it?"
