Interrogation

Will didn't know what to say. He couldn't exactly explain the truth, and he feared making a wish. What if she stopped him, or what if she made her own wish right away? He didn't want to risk it.

"Missing person? Do you mean my father Will? He isn't missing, he's just on vacation." Will said nervously.

"Vacation...right. So you live here with your father? How about that ID?" She sounded suspicious.

Will remembered that he had used a wish to change his ID, it couldn't hurt, right? "Just a second, my wallet's on the table there." Will walked over and grabbed his wallet, then returned and handed his ID to the officer.

She looked at it intently, "You have the same name as your father? Not even a junior?"

Will gave a nervous chuckle, "He was...is a vain man, what can I say?"

Suddenly there was a banging sound from the bedroom. The cop looked over, "Someone else here?"

"Yes, uh my girlfriend." He said quickly.

"You don't sound too sure. Maybe I should go check on this girlfriend of yours." She started to take a step inside.

"Wait!" Will stepped in front of her. The cop's nostrils flared. She looked pissed now.

"Get out of my way or you will be under arrest. Do you understand?" She said sternly.

"It's just...she's naked." Will tried to defuse the situation. He didn't think she really had cause to enter his apartment, but he didn't want to push back too hard. He didn't need any more scrutiny. "I'll call her. You don't have my permission to enter and you don't have a warrant." He crossed his fingers, hoping that would work.

She scoffed but made no further move to enter. "Fine. Bring her here then."

Will walked over and knocked on the bedroom door, "Honey, could you come out here?" He called.

Moments later the door opened and Gwen walked out, closing the door behind her. "Yes, what is it? Who is at the door?"

The cop answered for Will, "I'm Officer Stevens. Do you live here too?" She asked.

Gwen shook her head, "No. I was just visiting Will. Is there a problem? I _wish _I could help." She put emphasis on wish, Will hoped that meant that she had an idea to deal with the cop.

Will went for it, "I wish Officer Stevens wasn't so suspicious of us."

Quickly, before the officer could react to Will's wish, Gwen made hers, "I wish she was completely obedient towards you."

Instead of feeling relief, all Will felt was pain and heat coming from the ring. The wish had been too grand, and it didn't work. When he'd wished for control other others it had always been more subtle, or at their own request. It seems the ring couldn't be used to outright enslave someone else. Bad news, because officer Stevens had heard that wish, and she was pissed.
