Samora runs over to the female Scientist and tackles her to the ground to stop her. The jolt of hitting the ground seems to shift her out of her hypnotic trance.
"wait...why am I out of bed...what is going on?" she asks.

Samora explains that she seemed to be in some sort of trance heading towards the pods red ball. The scientist thanks her for saving her before heading back to her tent, a bit concerned about being hypnotized.

Samora goes over to the guard, who had been with the scientist taking pictures of the plants and learns that while they were taking pictures the orb glowed brightly, and the scientist seemed to be in a trance for a few moments, before the orb went back to normal.

"why didn't you report this?" Samora asks.

"she said she was fine, i assumed it was some sort of lure for prey, didn't think it would effect her mind." the guard says shrugging

The group go back to sleep, Samora and the other guard taking turns through the night to keep watch. The fire of the camp illuminates some animals in the bushes, but none venture out of the shadows and into the light.
