Inspect the creepy thing!

You lean forward, narrowing your almond eyes in the gloom, as you attempt to make out details. The spider is about the size of a large melon and shiny black in colour. It is cool to the touch and seemingly harmless. However it also appears to be hollow: giving it a shake, you can hear the sloshing of liquid inside. You also notice something else about the alter: the small bronze statues are all of humanoid women, in various states of undress. Most of them have been bound by webs and left in humiliating poses, with their most intimate parts exposed! As you inspect them even closer, you notice... one of them looks just like you. As you glance around, you also notice... there is a passgae directly behind you. Hidden by shadows, you realise that you can only see it because you have dark vision and that a light at this moment would actually keep it from sight.
