Chapter 3 by neoas neoas

What's next?

Everyone in the area feels a powerful compulsion to enter the house

Before anyone fully had time to make a decision on what to do, the Old Man walked out of the house, smiling as he looked around, knowing everyone who was in the immediate area. He smiled, eyes glowing red as shadowy black tentacles grew out of his body and shot towards everyone that he felt giving off signs of light. The tentacles quickly shot towards the people in the area, and embedded themselves into their chests. The people's eyes all glowed red while their bodies became stiff, as the old man assumed control of each and every one of them.

"My my," the Old Man said as he saw into their lives, looking into their pasts. "It seems that we have quite the array of characters this evening. Two college students that have come on a dare, a rich **** dealer and his high end prostitute lover, and two police officers on patrol. I believe my demons will be happy with this selection....enter the house and await your fate" he says as the controlled humans do as is said. The two cops get out of their patrol car and walked through the door, followed by Jake Masters and Madison Mason. The two college students had been the first to enter since they were the closest to the door anyway. The Old Man directed the people into various different rooms within the house before removing his tentacles from them and causing them to fall to the floor ****. The Old Man grinned as his snapped his fingers. The front door slammed itself shut and the entire house became encased in black flames. No doors or windows of the house would be able to be used as an escape. The now empty patrol car became engulfed in the same flames and disintegrated into a pile of ashes, leaving behind no evidence of anyone being in the area. To anyone new who happened to be walking around the area, the house would appear as it normally did. With his work done, the Old Man disappeared in a puff of black smoke.

*******

Stephanie Jacobs woke up with a pain in her head. The last thing that she remembered, she had dragged Simon to that scary house so they could perform that seance and win the bet she had stupidly made while she was drunk at that party. Steph knew that she never should have had those extra shots, but she took them anyway to prove that she could handle it, which was again a stupid idea. She made a mental note not to drink that much ever again. She made realllllllly shitty decisions when she was drunk.

Steph looked around with a frown. She just realized that this wasn't her room. She didn't quite know where she was. Steph sat up and looked around the room. Everything was old and covered in dust, but looked intact. There was an eerie chill in the room, but Stephanie chalked that up to being from the open window in the corner. She got out of bed and walked over to the window....now that she was closer, she saw that it wasn't open at all. She looked outside, but could see nothing but darkness. "Well, shit. Look what you've gotten yourself into now, Stephanie..." she said to herself before hearing the door behind her creaking open. Stephanie jumped and turned around quickly.

Simon Rogers walked into the room, holding his camera and pointing it right at Stephanie. "Aaaaaan Steph is alive, ladies and gentlemen!" he exclaimed, speaking loud enough for the camera to pick up what he was saying.

Stephanie just looked at Simon confused. "Simon, what happened? The last thing I remember, we were outside of the house, just about to walk in. did I pass out or something?"

Simon frowned. "Yeah, you did. So did all of us. We've all been waking up in different rooms and trying to find each other...."

"We? what are you talking about?" Steph asked confused. "And why are you still filming this?"

Simon shrugged his shoulders. "I've tried as much as I could, but the camera won't turn off, so I figured I may as well keep recording. I was one of the first to wake up so I looked around and found some other people **** in other rooms. We pieced together that there should be six of us here. C'mon, I'll introduce you to the others!" Simon said, leading Stephanie downstairs to the main entrance of the house. Sure enough, there were other people gathered in the house. "Hey everyone! I found Stephanie!" he said, running down the stairs, pulling Steph with him by the hand. He pointed the camera in front of one of the people, a tall guy with blond hair and a leather jacket. "That's Jake. He's a **** dealer, but a really chill guy" he said as he moved the camera to the young read headed woman standing next to Jake. She was wearing a tight scarlet dress that couldn't contain her large breasts entirely was just barely long enough to cover her ass. "that's Madison. She's Jake's...girlfriend....I think?" he said, clearly unsure. Both of them looked to be in their late 20s. Finally, Simon moved the camera to a black haired woman in her mid 40s who was wearing a police uniform. "Lastly, this is Officer Brenda Nelson. Her partner has been missing since we woke up, but we think that he's in here with us. So there you go, six different people, all trapped in this house. None of the doors or windows are opening, so we've been getting to know each other and looking around" Simon said, finally shutting himself up.

Stephanie looked around at these people, most of whom she had never even seen until now. Having lived int he area for the past little while, she had heard stories about Jake Masters and his **** trade. Supposedly he was known for being a trustworthy guy that would never give anything in life threatening quantities and stayed away from children or anyone who would be too easily addicted. She didn't know how much she believed about that, but there were certainly les **** dealers to be stuck with. As for the girl with him, Steph could tell that she was almost definitely a prostitute. Still, she wouldn't judge. People had the right to do what they wanted with their bodies and this woman was no exception. Other than them, the police officer seemed trustworthy enough. Stephanie had never really had any reason to interact with the police since she was generally a law abiding citizen, but she had a respect for anyone in uniform and knowing that an armed cop was here with her made her feel safe. "So, we're all stuck here?"

Simon nodded. "Yeah, that's what it seems like. We're assuming that Officer Nelson's partner will wake up any minute now and come to join us. Once we're all together, we'll figure out a way of getting out of here, but so far nothing seems to be working."

As Simon finished up his statement, the police officer piped in. "Simon is correct. We should wait for Nick, my partner, to find us before trying to find any way to escape, no matter how unlikely that escape is. We should try to stay together until then and maybe try to get to know each other a bit." She looked in the direction of Jake and Madison. "I already know why those two are here, but what brought you two kids?" she asked in Stephanie and Simon's general direction.

Simon opened his mouth to answer her question, but Stephanie beat him to it. "It's really stupid, but we actually came here because of a dare. I'm a parapsychology major so we were dared to come here and videotape me doing a seance. We wanted to just get it over with and leave, but I guess we can;t exactly do that now" Steph said, looking out the nearest window, which was behind officer Nelson and seeing nothing but a sea of darkness.

Officer Nelson chuckled a bit. "A seance? Like summoning a demon or something?" she asked in a bit of disbelief. Steph nodded in response. "Well, why don't we do it now? We'll be waiting for Nick to wake up and find us anyway, and that video camera isn't turning off if I remember correctly, so why don't we do it? That way we have something to do to pass the time, and you two can win your bet."

Madison moved closer to Jake, who wrapped his arm around her waste. "I don't know about that" she said, putting her head on Jake's shoulders. "that sounds scary."

Jake tightened his grip on her and smiled. "I don't see the harm. It'll be a nice little ice breaker and a way to kill some time. I'll make sure we're safe from any demons" he said, flexing the muscles on his free arm and smiling in a cocky sort of way. Everyone laughed at that. No one in the room actually considered the fact that demons were real or the cause of their strange predicament. Though maybe that was just the effect of the house they were all in. The four younger people started moving to the center of the room while Officer Nelson stayed behind and looked outside into the darkness. She wanted to be outside of this forsaken house sooooooo badly, but she'd have to wait patiently for awhile first. Officer Nelson looked at her reflection in the glass window and remembered what had happened to her only a few hours ago, when she had woken up in this house.....
