Easy Win for Blue

As Amber looks at you in confusion you can't help but give a sigh as you repeat yourself. "I said, I challenge you to a Pokémon Battle. You did bring your Pikachu with you, right?" Seriously, if she was walking this route without even a single Pokémon, no amount of self control would keep you from laughing, loudly, directly in her face.

"Oh, no I have him still." She starts rummaging through her travel bag. Pulling out a Pokémon Ball she tosses it and releases her angry looking Pikachu. "So... How does this work exactly?"

At you hear Amber's question you almost feel yourself having an aneurism. What the fuck does she mean by 'How does this work exactly'? You must have stood there staring at her in shocked silence for a few seconds, because you hear her call out. "Earth to Blue! You ok?"

Shaking your head to remove the stupidity from your ears, you reply. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Ok, take out your PokeGear." As you tell her, you also take out yours. Opening it you open the map function, finding Amber's icon you press it, opening up her Pokémon Trainer Profile. "Ok, I'm going to send you a challenge..." Normally the challenge process was automated, well mostly automated. But if Amber was THIS dumb you obviously had to walk her through it. "And sent...."

Amber stands there in silence, looking at the device as if it was a piece of alien technology. "So, do I have to accept?"

You take a mental breath and count backwards. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... "Yes, you have to accept..." Since you pitied her obvious ignorance you decide to inform her. "You can reply with different terms, but you can't just not accept."

"Oh... Well it says standard... So..." She then hit accept on the PokeGear and you see an accept message pop up on your device.

You weren't going to waste your breath, or brain power asking if she even knew what she was agreeing to. "Ok, now. Lets begin.... Arthur, POISON STING!" Following your command Arthur jumps from where it was standing at Amber's feet and lunges at the Pikachu, stabbing the yellow mouse in the side with the horn on its forehead.

"Hay! No fair! I wasn't ready!" The dumb slut was stomping her foot and pouting of all things.

If she wasn't going to give her Pikachu any commands, that wasn't your problem. Besides, the furious looking Pikachu was angry enough to attack on its own. As it tried to tackle Arthur while violently sparking with energy you reply, "What more warning do you want? Double Kick!" Arthur again attacks, this time kicking the Pikachu with his hind legs. You can't help but feel a little bit of pride as you watch him pull off that move, sending the Pikachu flying away from it. "Good job Arthur!" Took a good hour to teach him that trick.

Meanwhile, Amber is in full panic mode. "Ahh, Thunder... Shock?" Not that it needed the command, it was already sending bolts of electricity at your Nidoran, so you aren't sure if the Pikachu attacked because it was told to or just because it wanted to.

Still, while the attack hits it isn't enough to take down Arthur. By comparison the Pikachu looks to be on its last leg. "Finish it with Horn Attack!" Arthur charges the Pikachu, ramming it HARD with its horn and sending the yellow mouse flying a good 5 feet away.

It struggles a bit as it tries to get back up as Amber cries out. "That's enough!" She runs over to the Pikachu, reaching out her hand to gently pet it. It glares at her for a bit, but soon calms down. "I'm sorry Pikachu..."

Well, that was, anti-climatic. Still, Arthur did a good job. You pull out a Pokémon treat and toss it at the Nidoran. "You did good." He really did do a good job. Even if his first opponent was, well Amber.

But then your eyes fell upon your Eevee and you could tell that she was looking at you with a sense of disappointment. For once you agreed with her. What kind of future Pokémon Master went around winning battles against trainers this pathetic.

It was almost enough to kill your boner.
