The escapee

"Subject N0V-A has escaped containment. Lockdown is now in effect! We repeat, Subject-"

A young red-headed woman, dressed in a white jumpsuit, crouched down near the wall while looking around the corner. She watched several armed guards running through the hallways, searching for her. Today she finally had the chance to escape the compound.

She waited for a guard to walk towards her, and ambush him. "Target is-!" The woman quickly punched the guard in the stomach, forcing him to bent down. Following up with a uppercut, she knocked the guard flat. She dragged his **** body towards the exit door, where she held his face in front of the retinal scanner.

"Access pending... Connecting to Security..." A video feed near the retinal scanner turned on, showing another guard in a Security room. The woman made sure to flip the visor of the guard's helmet back down, lest they see he was ****. "Security here. Why are you leaving the containment zone?"

Think quickly on her feet, she mimicked the guard's voice flawlessly. "My, erm, weapon broke down, I need to get to the armory to issue another."

"Can't do." Answered the man in security. "We're in the middle of a lockdown. You know the protocol."

"I can't hunt the subject without a weapon." She rebutted. "If she escapes because I didn't get a working weapon, both our asses will be fried."

A brief silence followed. "...I can't believe I'm- Fine! I'll let you through. Just be quick about it!"

Relieved her ruse worked, the woman dropped the guard, while making sure to take his laser machine gun.

Running through the unknown hallways, she felt closer to the exit with every step she took.

"I think she might've escaped through here!" She heard someone shouting from behind. Worse still, she saw several guards ahead of her. She was trained with these laser guns, but she knew that not even she could handle this many men while being flanked.

But then she saw an airduct.

Knowing it was to tight for her to scrawl through it with the jumpsuit, she stripped it off, showing her taut but and b cup breasts. She detached the ammo cartridge from her Laser gun, and crawled through the duct.

"She went in there!" A guard shouted as her glimpsed the heel of her foot.

The airduct quickly made a L-turn, as the woman now had to crawl up. Half up the duct, she started messing with the Laser ammo. "If I remember correctly, putting that wire there will do this..."

She dropped the ammo cartridge, which quickly followed by a loud explosion, blocking the duct behind her. "Dammit, she's getting away!"

Crawling a bit further, she finally reached the end of the duct. Outside, she experienced two sensations she never felt before; a slight push, and the brightest light she'd ever seen.

"Guess that must be the wind and the sun." She chuckled, relishing in the first ounce of freedom she had in nearly twenty-one years.

The woman was an augmented woman who was taken by a shadow cabal her entire life. She was born of flesh like any other person, but was augmented with hidden cybernetic parts so that she and her "brothers and sisters" could work as assassins, spies, or soldiers.

But at least she was free!

First, she knew she had to disguise herself. She used her augment to will her hair color from red to blonde, and her eyes from green to blue.

Next, she had to lay low, and according to a road sign, the nearest town would be two miles away.
