Finally, it’s Friday and Felicity cannot wait for 3.15

Thursday evening finds Felicity packing her overnight bag. Thankfully it’s not unusual for her to spend the weekend at a friend’s, usually they take it in turns to stay at each other’s homes so they can either share the cab fares when they go out, or simply spend the evening in watching films and chatting. Of course this weekend is going to be very different, or at least Felicity hopes so!

“Ok if I stay at Chelsea’s tonight and maybe tomorrow?” she asks her mum over breakfast Friday morning, knowing full well her mum will say yes. She has picked Chelsea as her alibi because Chelsea has used her for the same reason in the past when she has wanted to spend the night with a boyfriend, so she is confident Chelsea will be fine with it when she tells her at school later. Of course, she knows that will lead to a whole host of questions from her friend, but she tells herself she can deal with those later.

“Sure darling, do you need anything, grab some money from my purse if so” her mum checks, making Felicity smile at how good her parents are to her.

“Not this weekend, we’re just going to do some window shopping and a film night probably” Felicity says, confident she won’t need much money this weekend.

Grabbing her bags, one for school, one for the weekend, she kisses her mum bye and is out the door, **** for it to be 3.15 already.

She waits until she knows she has a class with Chelsea to ask her friend to be her alibi, knowing full well what’s coming next.

“Where you going then?” Chelsea asks immediately, “you got some bloke lined up? You kept that quiet then.”

“Kinda, just do this for me and I promise I’ll tell you about it next week. Promise” she repeats, hoping her friend won’t press her for more.

“Ok, but you owe me. And by owe I mean all the juicy details” Chelesa gives her a grin that makes it clear Felicity won’t be let off the hook next week.

As the afternoon drags along, Felicity can feel the butterflies in her tummy growing. She’s not sure if it’s excitement for the weekend, nervousness about what might happen, or just worried about being seen getting into his car and her friends asking even more questions. She contemplates messaging him again, suggesting meeting him later, or somewhere else, wondering if she is doing the right thing or maybe doing something totally insane!
