Chapter 9 by gothamalleyviper

Julie looked at the ring on the table.

“No,” Julie said.

“I don’t think you understand,” the man said, “You already choose your place in the sisterhood.”

“What does that mean?” Julie asked.

“When the rings were first brought up, you didn’t hesitate to claim one,” the man said, “You made the choice to join the sisterhood. Look at your thumb, you have the mark.”

“Fuck that,” Julie snapped.

“Look at your hand Miss Julianne Julie Patooty Porter,” the man said, “You have the mark on your thumb where you put on the ring.”

Julie looked down and saw the same line drawing of the hourglass with a cross off the side of it. Julie tried to rub it off, but to no avail.

“That mark is on your soul Julianne,” the man said.

A light appeared from where the man was speaking, it illuminated him, Red pants, a white ruffled shirt, his hands behind the large circular brimmed hat covering his face and source of the light. Then the light went out and the figure moved, letting Julie see the cherry red glow of a cigar.

“Fuck you!” Julie shouted.

“That was part of the plan for tonight’s entertainment my dear,” the man said with a clear smile in his voice, “but not just yet. I should explain a few things to you my hot-headed you lady.”

The figure stood up and walked towards Julie, his shoes clicking on the wooden floor.

“Do you really think that it was pure happen-stance that a secretary on her first scuba dive went down to the bottom of a documented wreck that had been visited by legions of professional and amateur divers looking for remains of treasures from some five hundred years ago to find a cash of silver jewelry perfectly hidden away? Just waiting to reveal itself only to her?”

“So Ann did put them there, I knew that was too lucky for her,” Julie snapped.

The man laughed. As he stepped closer lights started to brighten and he removed his large hat. It was as if Captain Hook stepped out of the Disney movie and into the real world!

“My dear, how do you explain Miss Anne getting into your dreams?” Hook smiled.

To the left a pair of eyes started glowing red in the shadows.

“It’s all in my head,” Julie snapped.

“But then, how am I in your head, if it was just the girl finding the rings?” Hook asked as he started to walk around Julie.

“I am only having a dream,” Julie said, “This is one of those lucid hypno dreams, the twat must have put a speaker under my bed…”

“Maybe you should consider the alternative,” Hook said puffing on his cigar as he circled Julie.

“What is that?” Julie asked.

“Well Miss Julianne Julie Pooty Porter,” Hook said, “You are marked and the Goddess of Piracy wants you to serve in one of her sisterhoods.”

“There is no such thing as a Goddess of Piracy…” Julie snapped.

“You might call her Rán…” Hook said.

“Ran?” Julie asked.

“A Nordic Sea Goddess of death as she is generally known,” Hook said, “But she is also a goddess to the raiders of the sea, or as you would call them, Pirates.”

“And what if I refuse?” Julie asked.

“Then you can never travel over the seas again, let she find a way to make you drown,” Hook said.

“I can live with that,” Julie said.

“But will your friends?” Hook asked, stopping behind Julie.

All around the room in the dark corners of the eyes of three more people started to glow a bright red.

“What did you do to them?”

“I offered them a place as officers in this sisterhood,” Hook said, “And they accepted rather enthusiastically.”

“So what,” Julie asked, “If I refuse they will kill me?”

“That is up to them,” Hook said, “But as a practical mater, a ship always needs at least five officers, and your refusal would ensure their failure, and death from the beginning…”

“You are lying!” Julie snapped.

“Could you imagine them showing up in the next port and your friends walking into a bar and shouting out…” Hook started.

“… Hay, we just murdered the crew of our yacht, but need one more dyke to be an officer in our crew, any lesbians want to be a pirate?” Kristy shouted.

“Yeah, I can actually see that happening,” Julie pinched the bridge of her nose.

“And what do you think would happen to them if they did?” Hook asked.

“The cops would be called at the very least,” Julie admitted.

“Of course,” Hook said.

Hook started to circle Julie again. He took another puff of his cigar.

“Now assuming this is just a dream, what harm is there in having a little fun,” Hook said, “Not like you haven’t shared a bed with each of your friends.”

“And if this isn’t a dream?” Julie said.

“The you are embracing a life as a pirate as an officer in lesbian sisterhood crew,” Hook said, “A contract that you already signed, now you just have to fulfill your obligations…”

“Would they kill me for refusing?” the fear started to creep into Julie’s voice.

“That is up to them,” Hook said ominously, “But I can assure you, that if you join them, the Goddess will provide and aid you in claiming your ship.”

“What? This yacht?” Juile asked, “It isn’t able to fight like a pirate ship.”

“You don’t think Black Beard started out on a battleship, do you?” Hook rebutted, “Trust in your Goddess, and she will provide for you in all your needs…”

“And if I don’t, then I die…” Julie said sharply.

“Of course,” Hook smiled like a crocodile.

“What do I do?” Julie asked.

“Put on the ring and the blind fold…” Hook instructed, “And we will take care of the rest…”

Julie heard the other woman around her start to snicker and moan as if they were already playing with themselves.
