Elsie Meets Button

With a good feelings and bright giggles filling the room you and Button clean up your combined mess, together. You joke about how fast you each were and talk about that accidental hug afterward that could have meant big trouble you each get dressed. Despite her nudity until now Button did indeed have clothes to wear. The outfit she chooses is a practical tan one-piece long-sleeved jumpsuit with pockets galore and a opening at the butt to allow her tail to wag freely. The front zipper she leaves open down to about mid-chest. The garment wasn’t particularly cute but she made it so just by wearing it.

The pair of you had just gotten clothed when high above in the cylindrical shaft you suddenly hear a click followed by a gentle whir. Button instantly drops to her knees and waves for you to do the same.

“The lift’s coming down.” She whispers.

You kneel and watch as the flat bottom of the glides slowly into view. It was a scary thing watching the ‘roof’ get closer and closer. If it didn’t stop where it was supposed to you were about to become a Jesse shaped smudge on the bottom of the shaft.

“That must be Elsie.” You whisper back. “She was bound to come looking for me. I need to go talk to her.”

Button nods. “I’ll wait here.”

“No way!” You say. “You gotta meet El. She’s the best.”

“Do I have to?” She says, a bit nervously.

“Yes. You have to. Come on.”

To your relief you slip out of the room just before the elevator comes to a stop right where it was should have. With Button leading the way you hurry back around to the panel that lead into the storage bay. Button pulls down a small flap and peeks through.

“There’s only one.” She says in a low voice.

Careful so as not to touch her you creep up beside her and look into the bay where you see a very confused looking Elsie standing over her open crate. She was looking about the room. “Jesse?” She says in a loud whisper. “”Jesse? Are you here?”

“It’s her.” You say to Button.

Tentatively Button releases the panel and together you push it to the side.

“Oh!” El startles at the unexpected noise. Her face lights up however the moment she sees you crawling through. “Jesse!”

You and your sister rush into each other’s arms. Hugging her around the waist you hoist her off the floor to spin her in place. You both laugh and when the spinning stops give each other a big hug. “Worried?”

“Yes!” She shoves your chest. “Where did you go!?”

“After you left Kazia showed up and pushed the trunk down here…”

Elsie cuts you off with a loud gasp. “Hah! Wh-Who’s that?”

“Mmm.” You look over your shoulder to see Button cautiously approaching. Her head was bowed, her ears down, her tail tucked, and her hands clasped down and in front of her in a position of submission. “Oh! That’s Button.”

“Button?” El looks at you then back to the intimidated pup. You note how Button was approaching in such a way as to keep you between her and your sister. Weird. She hadn’t seemed shy before. “She’s…she has dog ears!”

“She’s a pup.” You say as you wave Button closer. “Button. Come here. This is my sister, Elsie.”

Unsure but trusting Button walks up, her eyes glued to the floor and never once looking at Elsie directly.

“She’s precious!” Elsie looks at you again. “But why is she so scared?”

“I don’t know.” You say. “From what I’ve heard women don’t treat pups very nicely. Button. It’s okay. This is Elsie. She won’t hurt you.”

Button shuffles closer as she tries to contain little whimpering whines.

“Hello Button.” El replies, her tone soothing and placating. “We weren’t told there was another on the ship.”

“She’s another stowaway, like me.” You say. “She was escaping, um, well, a **** sentence. El. I don’t think this universe we’re going to is as nice as we thought.”

Elsie, heart before brain as always, was far more focused on the terrified pup than your words. She bends over and tries to make eye contact with Button, but the pup just lowers her head further. In response Elsie gets right down on her knees and slides closer until Button had **** but to look at her. When their eyes finally do meet Elsie gives her that deep gaze and heart-melting smile that only she could muster.

“It is a pleasure to meet you Button.” She says.

As she tries to offer a hand you stop her. “She can’t touch us. It’s, er, it’s weird.”

“Um.” Button squirms. “That’s just for boys Jesse."

“Oh. Right.”

“Hello Elsie.” She gives El a sort of curtsie.

El glances to the open panel then back to Button. “Thank you for looking after my brother.”

“Um…sure.” In her tone of voice, in her rising ears and her relaxing tail Elsie was getting through to the alien stowaway. She swallows and licks her snout. “Jesse has been very kind to me.”

“He is a kind man.” Elsie says warmly.

“We haven’t bonded yet.” Button blurts. “I’m not trying to steal him!” She whines her puppy whine. “Please don’t turn me in. Please don’t beat me.”

“I would sooner jump out an airlock than harm a single curly hair on your head Button.” Elsie holds her hands out, palms up, in front of her. Button looks at them then gets down on her knees as well. Reaching out she slips her slender hands into Elsie’s. As El softly squeezes Button’s hands a smile begins to grow on the pup’s face. The pair kneel there for a long moment, just staring at each other and with each passing second Button is put more and more at ease until at last her tongue is wagging and tail slapping once more. There was the Button you’d come to adore.

Letting go of her hands Elsie opens her arms to offer a hug. “Berk!” Button yips and scurries forward into Elsie’s arms. They hug. As Button slurps at El’s face and neck Elsie is giggling like crazy. You stand nearby watching this candy-sweet coming together with a huge smile on your face.
