Summoning Magic

The room was soaked with an aura of mystery as James and Jessica pored over the Arcanum Grimoire. Suddenly, breaking the silence, James proposed they should try the summoning of magical entities. Jessica's eyes widened, she tried to oppose James out of fear and ignorance, but he was stubborn.

"Come on, Jess," he urged, trying to convince his step-sister to allow him to summon a magical creature. "This is our opportunity to try something new, something magical! Imagine what we could learn from bringing a magical entity into our world!"

Jessica hesitated, fingers tracing the faded letters on the yellowish paper. She felt James was dependent on her understanding of Latin, but it was her decision in the end. "But James, summoning... It's not to be taken lightly. These creatures are from realms beyond our understanding and they can be very dangerous."

He nodded, understanding the gravity of their undertaking. "Exactly. That's what makes it so exciting! And we are two, one creature cannot harm us if we stay together, Jess."

With a deep breath, she returned to the ancient text, seeking information about the art of summoning magic. The words seemed to pulse beneath her touch as she moved her finger over the paper. "In summoning," Jessica began to read aloud for James, "must seek a creature to evoke. Next, a ritual must be completed before the creature is called into the realm of people. It forges a connection, binding itself to the very soul of the one who calls."

James leaned in closer, captivated. "A soul-binding... That's... intense. But, what does it mean?"

She furrowed her brows and skimmed through the Grimoire's cryptic verses, unable to find a precise answer. "Yes, it is. But the text doesn't make any more sense to me, maybe it's an older version of Latin..."

James watched his sister in amazement as she flipped through the pages of the Grimoire. "Jess, what kind of creatures are there?"

Undeterred, she went ahead and listed the potential creatures to summon: succubus, incubus, goblin, Genie – there were too many possibilities to name one. The air seemed to radiate with potential, James and Jessica thought about what creature was best to summon.
