Chasing after them

You don't know what you were thinking, well, you probably weren't thinking at all, but you started chasing after the Heracross. When you look over your shoulder you see Helena running after the Pinsir, her honey blonde hair bouncing up and down.

"WE WILL MEET BACK HERE, OKAY?!" You yell.

"OKAY!" Helena screams, not looking behind her.

As you get deeper into the forest, the terrain becomes rougher. You're not quite sure if you'll be able to keep up with the Heracross, but you have to try. You release Bulbasaur from its Pokeball.

"Saur!" Your starter greets you cheerfully.

"Bulba, I need you to slow down the Heracross," you command. "Use Vine Whip!"

"Bulba!" Bulbasaur nods and two vines sprout from its bulb, shooting towards the Heracross. They miss, but it slows down a little bit, enough for you to almost catch up to it. You and Bulbasaur keep chasing after the Heracross when you see a small clearing coming up.

You run into the clearing, breathing heavily. The Heracross is nowhere in sight but your starter comes running back to you, it looks scared, and when you look behind it you know why. There in the middle of the clearing are a Nidoking and a Nidoqueen. They both look angry and dangerous.

The Nidoking roars loudly, causing the ground to shake. The two Nidos look at you and Bulbasaur menacingly. You take a step back, knowing they are out of your league. You recall Bulbasaur to its Pokeball, hoping to protect it.

The Nidoqueen lets out a deafening cry, causing you to cover your ears. The Nidoking charges at you, but you manage to dodge, making the Nidoking charge into a tree. You hear a loud cracking sound, and the tree begins to fall.

You run out of the way, barely avoiding getting crushed. The Nidoking easily shakes off the tree, but by doing so, accidentally hits the Nidoqueen, who was now charging in, with its tail.

She gets mad and attacks the Nidoking. The two Pokemon start fighting each other. You decide to take this chance to get away, not wanting to be involved in a fight between such powerful Pokemon. As you crawl to safety you spot three figures on the other side of the clearing, you can't make out many details. One of them is dressed completely in purple, a color rarely seen in nature, which is why you spotted them in the first place. And the other two look to be wearing a more casual outfit. You quickly hide behind a tree, hoping they won't notice you.

As the Nidoking and Nidoqueen are battling it out, the purple-clad figure motions towards the other two, and the three people quickly leave the clearing, not noticing you hiding behind the tree.

You stay there for a few minutes, trying to catch your breath. When you feel like you're safe, you walk over to where the Nidoking and Nidoqueen were battling earlier, the ground is cracked and full of holes, and there is no sign of either of the Pokemon. You let out a sigh of relief, glad that you managed to get out of this unscathed. Once you have calmed down a bit, you head back the way you came.

It takes a while, but you eventually make it back to where you last saw Helena. You call her name, but there's no response. Worried, you release your Bulbasaur, and together you search the area.

After a few minutes, you spot Helena's bag lying on the ground. You run over to it and pick it up, but there's no sign of Helena. You start to panic, wondering what happened to her. Not only that, but you're about to scream when a hand covers your mouth. But then you hear a familar voice, and you stop struggling.

"It's me! Helena!" she whispers. You relax, and Helena releases her hold on you.

"Helena! I'm so glad you're okay," you say, relieved handing her the bag. "I thought something had happened to you."

"I'm fine," she says. " I almost caught up to the Pinsir when my bag got stuck on a branch. I couldn't free it so I left it and continued to chase after Pinsir, but it got away, and when I turned around to head back I heard a bunch of noise, so I hid, and a few minutes later you showed up."

"Did you see a guy dressed in purple?" You ask.

"Yeah, you saw him too?" She asks surprised.

"Yeah," you respond. "I saw him in the clearing, along with two others, it looked like they were watching a Nidoking and Nidoqueen, which were fighting. But luckily they didn't notice me. I'm not sure what they were doing though."

"Maybe they were collecting data on Pokemon," Helena says. "Or maybe they were just curious about the battle."

"I don't know, but I don't want to find out," you reply. "Let's start moving before they come back."

"Okay, we have to go..." She pulls out her Pokedex and checks the map. "Uhm... this way."

"Alright, let's go," you agree, following her.

You follow Helena through the woods, occasionally stopping to check her Pokedex. She seems to have a good idea of where she's going. Eventually, the two of you find a small path, which leads to a small clearing.

"Hey, look!" Helena says, pointing to the right side of the clearing.

"What is it?" you ask as you come up behind her.
