Isaac accepted the call, and on the other end he heard the voice of a stern, almost bored sounding man who was older than him.

"I take it you're at your station?" The perpetually unimpressed man asked over the line, making it clear that "no" wouldn't be a smart answer.

"Yes sir." Isaac sat up straight, feeling it would be wise to take the man seriously, his presence overwhelming even if he was just a voice.

"Good. Now listen closely. This job might seem trivial, but to my superiors it is a very important one. Instructions being given over text and phone mean that you're trusted enough to be unsupervised and are expected to follow them to the latter, understood? We won't tolerate fuck ups. Especially since the assets have a great deal of... Importance to our founder." The man spoke in a no-nonsense tone, making it clear that this seemingly weird and short job had a greater purpose not obvious to Isaac.

"Understood sir. I won't let you down." Isaac gulped, feeling like he was going to be a part of something bigger, just that he doesn't know what.

And that makes him nervous.

"If the computer isn't turned on yet, do so. Your main job is to monitor the security cameras to ensure nothing... Out of place occurs. If worst comes to worst, there are certain measures in place you should carry out to ensure your safety. Your main job is to ensure our assets remain in place for retrieval at the end of your contract." The man on the phone switched to giving instructions, as if he was reading off a script.

The wording used makes Isaac feel a tinge of fear creep up his spine. The weight of the man's words and the implication of danger made Isaac even more nervous.

"I'll turn the computer on." Isaac relayed back, pressing the power button on the thick square computer.

The screen whirred to life, and the red lights of the security cameras beep in activation.
