Having access to a demi-plane with accelerated time was a significant game-changer. The simple fact that hour-long lessons with Butler or Rwnil now only took six minutes of real time (and therefore could easily be stretched out for a few hours, including a couple breaks, and still take up less time than they had before) opened up significant portions of Ahsch’s day. Despite that, he resisted the urge to expand his soul demi-plane much. Having it on its own wasn’t a problem in any way, but instead he questioned what to do with it. His initial plan to turn it into the afterlife realm fell apart in an instant when he realized his divine intuition was mildly opposed to it. And upon reflection, he knew why: his soul, Ahsch’s soul, was not an appropriate place for worshipers of Enochiel. It was a distinction that the godling could tell was shrinking on the daily, but it was an important one nonetheless. A distinction that meant he would have to find another place to tether the afterlife of Enochiel’s servants - a price he knew he could now add to any favors asked of him as a god, for the soul of the individual in question to be bound to that afterlife, at least for a time.
It was, appropriately, during a lesson with Rwnil that Ahsch suddenly struck upon a revelation. The Ascended paused her lecture, an eyebrow arching at her pupil’s sudden lack of attention, though she said nothing. “Concepts do not inhabit a physical place, correct?”
She frowned. “Yes, that was one of the first things I taught you,” she confirmed, a little testily.
“But they can be accessed from anywhere with the same ease as reaching out to touch the ground at your feet, or to wave your hand through the air.” Instead of replying, Rwnil crossed her arms, eyebrow still arched, though a slightly impatient expression crossed her face. Ahsch finally met her gaze. “Let’s step out for a minute,” he said.
A moment later, they were back on Euphoria, the endless halls of the ‘Enochiel-themed’ segment of Ahsch’s soul-realm left behind. Concentrating, Ahsch felt for his bond to Enochiel, to the divinity and domains, the entire concept of that god. Finding it, he compared it to the bond he could feel with his own soul, a somewhat bizarre experience since the soul and his consciousness were practically the same thing. Still, he confirmed something, and a grin split his face.
“Give me a minute,” he said to his teacher, who no longer seemed impatient, but rather curious. It was barely half a minute later that Ahsch’s grin widened. “I think I did it,” he said, turning eagerly to Rwnil.
“Did what?”
Rather than answer with words, Ahsch gently pulled her into the new demi-plane he had formed moments before, just as easily as he had entered the one within his soul. Only this one was quite different.
They stood in a gazebo, a rather large one that could have comfortably fit the entire inner circle on plush couches with room to spare. The stone-floored, darkwooded structure was relatively empty, with only a few low tables and comfortable recliners spread around. Beyond the gazebo were four different locations, each of which was accessible by an archway, and the merger between each section was almost blotted out by wooden trellis ornamentation in between the arches.
The first arch led out into an intricate garden. Ahsch knew what it symbolized, even before stepping out into it, as he could tell with the briefest brush of his bond sense the intricate and close links between the various trees and shrubs and flowers of the garden. In fact, it almost seemed to him that the entire garden was one singular thing, a tree with multiple trunks of various species which sheltered the smaller plants and provided places for them to root. And when he did step out into the garden, he found he was mostly correct - for example, the green beneath his feet was a plush moss, not grass, and he could just barely feel the wood that the moss grew upon, except the moss, upon closer inspection, was more akin to leaves than a separate flora… and yet was also vastly different from the tree upon which it grew. A pseudo-mono-organism ecosystem. Many things which were one, bound together.
Across from the Garden of Bonds was a stone hallway with various heavy doors. Some were purely wooden, others had metal reinforcements, others were entirely metal, and a few were even stone. Despite being enclosed and lacking any normal source of light such as a torch or window, the hallway was comfortably lit, enough to see easily without straining the eyes, yet not bright. Pushing open one of the doors, a warm-colored wooden one, Ahsch found a…
He blushed. It was clearly a BDSM sex room, what with the assortment of whips and chains and clamps and the bed with numerous tether points and the hooks on the walls and ceiling at perfect height for some bondage. At first he thought this hallway represented the sexual domain, but moving across to a stone door, he found a dim cell with little more than a stone bench and chains. Exploring more, he quickly put the pieces together, and determined that it was a Hall of Domination, with certain rooms representing sexual domination over the willfully-submissive, others being cells in which to confine the conquered, some being offices that would be appropriate to a head of state, and so on. He also quickly found that he could instantly ‘summon’ a door containing a room appropriate to his desires simply by concentrating when opening one.
Exiting from the Hall of Domination, Ahsch went to the arch on the right, where he found a violet-hued void. Frowning, he tentatively stepped out - into Avery’s bedroom. Well, not quite, details were wrong, and so was the layout, and the bed was the wrong dimensions - but it clearly represented his wife’s room. Frowning again, he turned to Rwnil… who was gone. He quickly returned to the gazebo, looked around, then turned back at the now-void, and almost ran into his mentor.
“I’m curious how this demi-plane both perfectly recreated the _feeling _of my favorite hotspring to bring men to, while also completely messing up all of the details.”
Ahsch blinked, then looked past her at the void. “I think…” he started, then walked around Rwnil and stepped out into the void, giving an errant thought to a fantasy his girls had repeatedly prompted… and entered a palatial throne room, with rich pillows and cushions, gauzy silk curtains, small stages which were the perfect dimensions for a dance or more _intimate _show, and an impressive throne, with room for an entire harem to attend the seated rule of the room.
Rwnil let out a low whistle from behind him. “I take it this represents your domain of sex, and you have some… ambitious fantasies,” she said, less a question and more a tease.
“How did you…?” Ahsch began to ask.
“I just thought to follow you,” the Ascended shrugged.
Nodding, the younger hrafthi led the way back out of the Void of Fantasies and crossed the gazebo, to enter the final domain. A bathhouse awaited him, with comfortable warm waters and mirror-like waterfalls descending from high up the walls. A perfect place to lounge, relax, and with the way things were set up, if one wanted to, display their body.
Returning to the central gazebo, Ahsch nodded. This was an appropriate place to build an afterlife.

Strange Salvation
(Re)Starting Life as a Weird Mage
The vast majority of people fall almost completely and utterly within the average. Maybe they're notably more intelligent, or stronger than the average, getting outside the standard deviation or two that most of the population lies within. So, what happens if after - or, perhaps, during - death, someone found out they were actually exceptional? And, even better, got a second chance? <[(I'm not including it as a primary tag because the usual (sexual/fetishistic) connotations don't apply, but there will be 'gender-bender' in this story, that being actual transgender/transsexual characters who undergo physical transition, both MtF and FtM. The main character does not, and is male throughout the entire story. Along with that, there's some general exploration of sex and gender and sexuality - I approach that sort of thing with an eye to realism in general. If you don't like that, don't read. If you think you won't mind it and end up not, don't complain.)]>
