A Hail Of Windows

I wake up, my arms wrapped around a woman who might as well be a goddess. I’m immediately awake, but don’t feel any need to get up. There’s no rush, we have no schedule today. Why not stay in bed and cuddle for a little longer? I snuggle in closer to her, pressing my body against hers and enjoying the warmth and intimacy of sleeping next to somebody I care about so much.

Eventually, I remember the windows I ignored from last night. I smile as I think about what we did. I’m no longer a virgin! The memories replay in my head and my dick immediately gets hard. I pull away from Mia slightly, not wanting to wake her. I feel like jerking off, but somehow that feels a little weird with my girlfriend sleeping right next to me.

Instead, I slowly extricate myself from the bed, being careful to be quiet and not wake her up. The house is at a cozy temperature, so there’s no need to put on clothes if I don’t want to. I’m not comfortable walking around naked here though, so I put on panties and my silk pajama shirt, and tiptoe out of the room.

I walk downstairs and sit on the living room couch. I’m a little hungry, but I put that aside for the moment so I can look at the multitude of windows. I’m too curious to ignore them for any longer.

The fact that I got three different achievements for having sex is kind of funny, but I’m definitely not complaining about the free stats. The more stats I have, the better. It’s also really nice that the supreme Goddess of the world isn’t transphobic. The achievement rewards are nice, but I have a feeling the really juicy rewards are going to come from the quest being completed.

Right, I finally get to see what those Skill Evolution Points are! 3000xp is a lot, and I’ll happily take it. I wonder what that ‘Spirit Crystal’ thing is though? I’m happy with just the level up, but the skill evolution and the Spirit Crystal are bonuses on top of that, and they put me in a very good mood.

Holy shit, it looks amazing! I have no idea what any of the attributes do, or what an artificial spirit is, but from the looks of things, it looks powerful, especially considering that it’s an epic crafting material. After poking at the attribute menu for a few seconds, I find the attribute descriptions.

Living material means I can feed it materials and whatever I make out of it will get better as I feed it better materials. Spirit of Love means to love, growth means to learn, nature means an affinity to nature and healing means the wish to help. I’m not entirely sure what these mean, but after doing some quick research into what artificial spirits even are, I connect the dots.

According to what I can find on the little information sheet I got from the Abyss Auction for a “mere” $500, artificial spirits are artificially created beings that can serve pretty much any purpose the creator wishes. Apparently, it’s possible to fuse the core with pretty much any solid object, making that object effectively sentient in the process.

Not all artificial spirits have to be made sentient, there are some that only have a smidgen of consciousness. Enough to get one or two repetitive jobs done, and that’s it. I’m not sure how I feel about that part. Still, the idea of making an artificial spirit with this crystal excites me. Especially since I have the perfect thing to fuse it with.

A rare statue at home of Poison Ivy from DC, that I managed to track down, because I have a huge crush on her. The statue cost me a couple hundred bucks, but it was worth it. If I could fuse the two and essentially make a sentient Poison Ivy, it would be incredible. Especially given that the crystal’s attributes almost seem to be made especially to fit her.

Well, the reward for that quest isn’t the greatest, but considering everything I got already from losing my virginity, there’s nothing to complain about. I accept the quest and let my mind run wild with possibilities for a few moments, before reigning it back in and shoving the idea to the side for the moment.

It’s awesome, but I still have some things to do. I open up my character sheet to spend the new statpoints I got from the level up on Wisdom. I’m now at level 15, and can cross the threshold for 50 Wisdom. As I tap the button to confirm the increase in my stats, another window appears, confirming my hope that there would be a reward at 50 statpoints.

Holy shit! I check my character sheet to see what my new rate of mana regen is. I can barely contain my excitement, this is an increase of over double what I had previously!

I blink rapidly. 14.85 per minute, fuck me that’s an increase. This is going to be really helpful when it comes to combat. The increase in money must be from more sales on the abyss auction. It’s really satisfying that the numbers have aligned so perfectly. I notice the highlighted ‘skill evolutions’ part, and tap my finger to it.

Plus signs appear next to the skills 'augment body', 'craft' and 'mana arrow'. I guess the idea is that I can evolve a skill into something better? I don’t see any other plus signs, so I’m guessing I’ll have to level up more and level up more of my skills before I can evolve anything else. I hear footsteps coming down the stairs, so I close my character sheet and postpone the decision for another time.

“Morning miss 'leave me alone in bed'.” Mia says as I turn around. She’s wearing nothing but her panties, and it’s a miracle I manage to get a word out without stuttering. She looks every bit as stunning as always, if not more so. “Hey, I got a ton of windows and I was curious!” I defend myself, as a grin slowly spreads across Mia’s face. “Get in here, you idiot.” She says, spreading her arms open wide.

I giggle and rush to cuddle her, wrapping my arms around her and holding her tightly. Mia is giggling just the same as I am, as she squeezes me in return. “How’d you sleep?” I ask her. “Best sleep of my life.” She responds, looking lovingly into my eyes. “Same to be honest. I felt so at peace.” “Bacon for breakfast?” She asks. “Sounds superb.” I reply.

“Nerd.” Mia snorts. “Oi, just because I speak more eloquently than you, doesn’t mean you have to be jealous!” I retort, turning and walking back to the kitchen. I feel a sharp impact on my ass and yelp, surprised. I turn back around to see Mia holding in more giggles. I purse my lips and she bursts out laughing.

“You’re lucky I’m hungry, or I would tickle you right now.” “The horror!” She says, continuing to giggle. I roll my eyes, unable to hold back a grin. The spank reminds me that I should use augment body on my ass too, considering that it’s kind of flat. My hips haven’t developed a lot either. A side effect of not eating all that much.

Mia makes us a quick breakfast of bacon and eggs and we sit down at the kitchen table to eat it. “You should know, you’re really powerful. To get this much power in just a week is insane. The level you’re at right now, is maybe average or a little above for abyssals.” Mia remarks. “Really? I don’t feel very powerful.”

Mia nods, continuing to explain. “Most people don’t have access to your level system to compare power levels, so we use tiers instead. You and I are at about the top of F tier or the bottom of D tier. The majority of abyssals are in F tier, if you follow. Then it goes D tier, C tier, B tier, A tier and last, S tier. I’m not entirely sure how your level systems translates things, but that’s how most abyssals measure power levels. What level did you say you were again when you first got these powers?” Mia asks. “Level 3 and that was on Monday this week.” I reply.

“And you said you saw mundanes from level 1 to 9?” I nod. “F tier is mundane level to just above mundane. You’ve gotten from the lower mundane level to about the top of F tier, in what, 5 days? That’s pretty incredible. As I said, most abyssals are in F tier, and they can train their entire lives, not going beyond that. You’ve had less than a week and already achieved that."

I nod, putting another piece of bacon in my mouth and taking in everything that she’s said. I don’t know if there’s any maximum level. I haven’t thought about that up until this point, but I guess there has to be, right? I don’t think there’s any way to really find that out right now, so I guess for the time being, I just have to hope that I have a high potential.

“My point is.” Mia continues. “You likely have a pretty strong potential. With your unique abilities that are reality breaking already and your quick gain in power, you’re going to be pretty strong one day.” “You think so?” I ask. “Well I’m pretty sure. It wouldn’t make sense if you can break reality but can’t get any stronger than you are now.” Mia chuckles. I nod at that. “Makes sense.”
