In a time long gone, there lived witches. These witches had abilities that allowed them to be in touch with nature's core. One such witch, named Elizabeth, was in love with a mortal. In 1347, when the bubonic plague arrived to europe, I foretold a prophecy which said that her lover would die to it. However, the witch didn't want to lose her lover.

Because of my prophecy, she decided to create a spell that would bind her human lover's heart to nature's core. The ritual required to perform the spell was a sexual one (of course), in which both partners had to have an orgasm at the same time. Not much is known about the spell apart from this, but an old friend of mine told me their screams could be heard for miles. From what I've heard, the ritual was extremely pleasurable.

After the spell was performed, it led to the creation of the first vampire.

His name was Michael Dacre.

Due to the bind to nature's core, Michael recieved extraordinary abilities. He was permanantly healthy. He could transform into a bat, fly, and much more. However, this came at a price. Due to the fact that his heart was the organ bound to nature's core, he needed to consume blood in order to stay alive. In order to balance things out, Nature's core made it so if Michael went over a week without consuming blood, he would petrify immediately.

The spell also came with a few side effects due to being bound to a human's heart:

Firstly, every single one of Michael's family members also became vampires since they shared blood with him.

Secondly, if left in the sun for too long, the vampire's blood would start to boil. Although it couldn't truly kill them, it would **** them until night time, and they would be left petrified, just as if they'd starved to ****.

Thirdly, a vampire could not be invited into one's home with clear permission from the owner of the home.

And finally, if anything managed to get to the vampire's heart, they would truly die.

Around two hundred years later, one of Michael's sisters, Anna, gave blood to a human after biting him. That is how the Dacres discovered they could turn humans into their kind.
