Chapter 17

Anything else happen at the zoo? Or on to the museum?

Ape escape

Mary and Steven slowly strolled through the park, looking at the various animals. Granted, some were inside or asleep at this hour. But they enjoyed their time nonetheless.

“You know, despite everything that happened today, this is kind of nice.” Said Steven.

“I know what you mean. The zoo feels so peaceful at this hour. No other guest or screaming children and whatnot.” Grinned Mary. “Like we’re the only people on the planet.”

“I wouldn’t hate that!”

“Sorry, I didn’t quite catch that. What did you say?”

“N-nothing. Hey, I love our outing. But we should probably get going soon before the sun sets.”

“Of course. But I do want to visit the gorilla habitat before we go. I need to see an old friend.”

“Ya know, not that I care or anythin’,” Asked Gus, not making eye contact with Dana. "But why are ya still huntin' those pervs? They're no longer at that hotel, so they aren't your problem anymore."

"Because they humiliated me! When I tried to chase them after that girl threw that filthy skunk at some guy, I got sprayed myself."

"Really, that just sound like your own dumb fault."

"If those two hadn't decided to play Adam and Eve in our hotel, I wouldn't even be outside in that maze!" Shouted Dana. "So before I drag them back to the hotel, I'll make sure to humiliate them. That you happen to tag along really is a blessing in disguise."

"Well, thank ya kindl- wait, what do ya mean with 'in disguise', miss Pinkie Pie?"

"Crap, you noticed it?!" Dana quickly covered her left butt cheek. "Look, I got like really, really drunk once and woke up with like three tattoos."

"Hold on, three? I only counted the pony and the cat.”

"And those two are more than you should’ve seen. And that third one no one will ever see, especially not a yokel like you.”

“Not when I get your pictures, ‘member?”

“Right…” Dana cursed herself for her impulsive decision.

“Come here, big girl. Did you miss me?” Mary spoke, bending over the railing.

“So, one of these gorillas was your friend?” Said Steven, stealing the occasional quick glance at Mary’s ass.

“Hmm-hmm, when I was a little girl, I accidentally dropped my Ninja Turtle figure in here. But then one of the little gorillas found it, looked at me, and tossed it back. And despite what my parents say, I just know that she knew that I wanted it back. Ever since then, I always made sure to make a quick stop here.”

“That’s kinda cute. Which turtle was it.”

“Duh, Raphael obviously. He’s the best after all!”

“Oh, don’t even-!” Said Steven indignant.

“Anyway, we had ended up having a discussion about who the best turtle is for longer than either of us are willing to admit.” Mary rubbed the back of her head.

“I swear, you two are the only people on the planet who’d argue over that while stranded naked in a zoo.” Laughed Cassie.

“First off, you are absolutely right, Cassie.” Grinned Steven. “Secondly, you are absolutely wrong, Mary. It’s clearly Mikey. If he wanted to, he could carry the whole team.”

“Yeah, if he wanted to. But if he-“

“Guys, before you go off on your nerd rant…” Interrupted Cassie.

“Right, the story…” answered Steven with a chuckle.

“Actually, I wanted to say that Donnie’s the best. But sure, continue.”

“…”

“…”

“…”

“…We definitely will get back to that, young lady.” Said Mary in a fake-angry tone.

“Let’s agree to disagree.” Said Steven somewhat insulted. “But which gorilla was it?”

“It’s the one way over thereeeeeee.” Said Mary, leaning way to far over the railing. Losing her balance, she dropped in the gorilla habitat.

“MARY!”

One of the gorillas stormed at Mary. Mary was completely frozen in fear, when suddenly Steven dropped in and dragged her away. “Mary, we have to get outta here!”

They barely got a few feet further, when another gorilla attacked. Steven tried to shield Mary, when her hairy friend came over. She attacked the other gorillas, seemingly ordering them to back off.

“You… you saved us, Cassandra!”

“Wait, I was named after a gorilla?!” Said the shock Cassie.

“We did say we named you after a dear family friend…” Smiled Mary.

“I thought you meant from college or something!”

“Shame she passed away fifteen years ago.”

“I’m not sure how I feel about this.” Said Cassie in contemplation.

“Anyway, back to the story…”

What happens next?
