As Brock’s Tyranitar raises its head towards your Gardevoir, a sandstorm swirling around the Kaiju, you have gone soo far beyond terror that you feel a mind-numbing calm.

It is then that you feel your water break, “Oh…” Well, that's a problem...

Over the loudspeakers you vaguely hear the announcer laughing before they speak, commenting on your current state. “Looks like the PokeSlut is so terrified that she pissed herself folks. I don’t blame her.”

If you were thinking normally, you would be mortified. But you don't have time to be mortified right now. The score was still 4-2 in a 5 v 5 Pokémon Battle. Tyranitar might be powerful, but you had Pokemon to take on his one. You could still win this...

You know that Tyranitar is a Dark Type and Rose is a Fairy. So, you command her to use “Moon Blast” and watch at the behemoth swerves, demonstrating agility that is absurd for a creature of that size, causing the Moon Blast to barely clip its shoulder instead of landing a direct hit.

Rose isn’t so lucky as the Tyranitar lands a solid “CRUNCH!” and you watch as your Gardevoir gets tossed around like a chew toy before getting thrown outside the arena. If she hadn’t already been weakened by the Earthquake she might have withstood the attack, MAYBE. But both was out of the question…

You return Rose to her Pokeball and spare a second to consider what to do. Brock probably expects you to send out Grimmsnarl again. So that is exactly what you are NOT going to do.

“Go, Starmie!”

While Starmie is a water type, it is also Psychic and won’t last long against the Dark Type Tyranitar. But you don’t need it to last long.

As the Tyranitar charges towards your Starmie you command it to use “SCALD!” which lands a direct hit on the Pokémon’s face while leaving a burn. However, even though the Tyranitar has been hit twice, by super effective moves as well, Brock’s final Pokemon plowed through the attack and bites into your Starmie.

To your relief, the combination of Reflect and Burn weakens the blow enough for your Pokemon to hold on, for now. Not wasting the opportunity, you shout, “HYDRO PUMP!” and watch as your Starmie unleashes a flood of water directly into the Tyranitar’s mouth. The Tyranitar spits out your Starmie, coughing up water as it does so. You take advantage of the beast’s moment of weakness to command your Starmie to use “Recover & SURF!”

The Kaiju Pokemon charges at your Pokémon, but Starmie is faster. As the wave of water slams into the Tyranitar you hope for a moment that the monster falls to the attack.

To your horror the Tyranitar pushes through the wave of water like a monster out of a horror movie and latches onto your Starmie once again with its jaws.

You don’t wait for it to spit your Starmie out before recalling it back to its Pokeball and sending out Grimmsnarl.

The score is now 4-4 and while Brock’s Tyranitar is terrifying, David is comparatively fresh and is a Fairy type. You shout out your command “Play Rough” and watch as David charges at the monster a thousand times his own weight, bright pink energy glowing around his fists.

Brock gives his own command of “Stone Edge” and for a horrifying moment you worry that the fight is over as the Tyranitar charges at your Grimmsnarl.

Only to watch with satisfaction as David’s fist collides with the Goliath’s head with a vicious right hook, sending the beast to the ground. You watch Brock Tyranitar stir as it struggles to get up.

HOW is this monstrosity still fighting?!?!?

Before the beast manages to get to its feat though, you are surprised when you hear Brock say, “I think that’s enough.” and he recalls the Tyranitar, putting back into its Pokémon ball and ending the battle.

And like that, you earned your 7th Badge. Too bad what should be your moment of glory is ruined as you feel another powerful contraction which almost brings you to your knees.

You hear the announcer speaking on the loudspeakers “Oh, it looks like the PokéSlut managed to win. I guess 3rd time really was the charm.”

You ignore what else the announcer might be saying and focus on taking deep breaths. "In... and out... In... and out..."

Wincing from the pain, you manage to walk towards Brock who actually has a smile on his face. A smile which fades as you get closer and asks, “Are you all right?”

“NO I’M NOT ALL RIGHT! My fucking water broke! Give me my damn badge and call a fucking ambulance!”

Author’s Notes: Did I plan a ‘David v Goliath’ when I picked the name David? No, I did not. Did it turn into a happy coincidence? Yes, it did!
