Where had Aqua been?
Exorcising the house.
"Wait, you got rid of all the spirits already?" Kazuma asked after Aqua had explained where she had disappeared off to.
""Already" nothing, it took me hours you know!" she pouted. "There were a lot of them!" She then held up an empty wine bottle and continued, "I WAS just going to leave them alone for tonight, and just enjoy the place, but then one of them had to go and drink the wine I was going to enjoy! It was the ghost of that little girl I told you about! She drank every last drop! After that, I decided on sending every last spirit here to the next life!" she cackled, looking devilish.
"...from the spirit's point of view, you're an absolute demon," Kazuma shuddered. "So the story about that girl... It was true?"
"Yeah, of course it was!" Aqua replied. "Those dolls that were chasing you were actually her possessing them. But she wasn't going to hurt you guys, she just wanted friends," Aqua shrugged. "You know, someone to talk to, have a drink of wine with, that sort of stuff.
"I see..." Kazuma nodded. "So all this time, we were scared over nothing?"
"I feel pretty bad now..." Megumin pouted.
"Not to mention annoyed at how much free entertainment we gave the Erokami there," Kazuma deadpanned at where Ria was still giggling.
"I mean, in your defense, the dolls she picked out to possess WERE pretty darn creepy," Aqua shrugged. "At any rate, I kept her company until she calmed down, so you don't need to worry about her anymore."
"Well then, we should head to bed," Kazuma yawned. "This has been WAY too exciting a night..."
"Not to mention painful," Aqua glared at him.
"What part of, "I'm sorry, but we thought you were the ghost coming to get us," don't you get?" Kazuma shot back.
"The part where you both kicked me into being insensate!"
The rest of the night passed by in a much calmer fashion, getting everyone back into their sleeping arrangements and whatnot. Darkness of course wasn't happy about sleeping through all the "fun." Shortly after news that the ghosts were gone circulated, they were all in bed and sleeping again.
