What happens when you GET OUT OF TROUBLE?

Master Maurippos assigns you to walk Praxilla home.

On a 7-9, when you GET OUT OF TROUBLE: You get remedial work or duties to set you right. Gain +1 XP and a CONSEQUENCE.


An irregular buzzing or humming comes from what seems like a distance. You're lying down and things are aching. Something seems to be pressing down on you.

A great splash of water douses you on the head and shoulders.

"I'm awake, I'm awake!" you protest. But where is Praxilla? You struggle to rise. A weight across your body holds you in place.

"Hey!" Praxilla's voice comes from an arm's length away.

If you could move your arms.

Oh.

Master Maurippos laughs a hearty laugh. "Well, it seems you kept guard until dawn, and then our fair young lady fell down on top of you. Serve the both of you right, I suppose. At least it seems you lasted until she worked through the love grass."

Almost. The young centauress was backed up to a tree, humping out a climax, the last thing you knew before you woke up in a heap underneath her.

Maurippos leans downward, supporting himself with his wizard's staff. He takes Praxilla's hand in his, and her balance returns.

"Up, Praxilla!" Maurippos commands.

As the golden-pelted centauress struggles to her four equine feet, her weight shift presses the wind out of you and squeezes out a popping sound from your back and ribs.

"I need to shit again!" Praxilla complains.

"Put your hand on this tree, Praxilla," Maurippos says. "As long as you don't move your feet you will be quite stable." You're still in the little grove alongside the meadow with the ancient magical tree. "This is a suitable place."

Praxilla growls as she answers nature's call beside the elder centaur wizard and the little human wizardling she hadn't been able to get rid of.

Maurippos' heavy-hanging penis is not erect this morning, and your member is also at rest, so it seems that Praxilla is no longer on heat from the love grass.

"Now, young human," Maurippos says. "Can you rise?"

You awkwardly pick yourself off the ground and dust off your brown robes. It's been a long night, and not a restful one. Parts of you hurt, and other parts ache, and your head is far from clear.

"Walk with me," says the centaur wizard.

"Don't LEAVE me here!" Praxilla protests.

"Not to worry!" Maurippos tells her.

He walks with you some distance away from the fuming centauress who was your charge overnight. He halts with a thump of his staff and strokes the beard on his chin.

"It's not so much to make sure she can't hear us," Maurippos says, "as to make it difficult for her to interrupt us without laying yet another spell on her." Frowning, he continues with a criticism of your sloppy handling of the unruly young centauress, but acknowledges that you kept her safe for the night without using any cruelty nor compulsion, and that you did not give in to take advantage of the sexual heat from Praxilla's gorging on love grass. "I don't know what she was thinking there," he adds. "But perhaps one incautious bite led to another, and then there was nothing in her pretty head but caprice, lust, and wilfulness." He clears his throat. "In any case, I charge you with getting Praxilla home safe." He breaks a leafy branch from a nearby tree and lays an enchantment on it. "This will guide you to her home."

He hands you the branch and gives you a friendly slap on the shoulder. Ouch. You hold your peace. Perhaps he meant it to sting, or perhaps he's careless of humans.

"I leave you to each other. Best get going."

"Master Maurippos, you'll let my House know, and Miss Sterling?" you say.

"I'll tell Nadia to pass the word," Master Maurippos says. He taps his staff on the ground and trots off, leaving you to your continued guardianship of your first assignment in Magical Creatures.

You hope it's not your last.

You trudge back toward Praxilla with Master Maurippos' enchanted branch in hand.


Take the CONSEQUENCE: Praxilla's Guardian. She's your priority until you get her home, and will be a distraction in anything you're trying to get accomplished, including getting her home. (Take -1 on each Move roll until you're done).

You have 6 XP and may apply ADVANCEMENT when appropriate.

You have a FAVOR from Miss Wormwood, and a FRIEND, Aurelia Sterling, your Enchantments teacher.

Roll +DILIGENCE(+1) (+2 Diligence, -1 Consequence): ⚀⚀ + 1 = 3, Miss. You're off to a rocky start!

On a miss, you may expend a FAVOR to get released from your task, but don't count on an early in to Magical Creatures. Otherwise describe the difficulties you go through and roll again to GET OUT OF DETENTION.
