“…John.” Sarah finishes.

I’m getting nervous again. I just went through quite the ordeal with this speedo situation. I’m not sure what else could possibly await me. I still haven’t learned what Nicole knows about Miranda, so I’m going in without the intel I expected.

“We’ll see.” Said Nicole.

While it was possible the group could have agreed to lie to us, I knew I could trust Matt. If not to help out his friend, then to focus all vitriol on Tom, whom we shared a similar annoyance for. And I couldn’t see Miranda trying to pull one over on us. But…nothing’s ever really certain.

We reach the rest of the crew. They’re looking a little more tipsy than before. The bottle Matt brought over is missing more than a little volume. Miranda is red faced as she reaches for the bottle and stands up. I can see she’s gripping something else in her other hand.

She steps towards us all and says “We’re going to need help with this. I’m already feeling it.” She outstretches her arm to offer the bottle. She locks eyes with me and seems to grow redder in the face. She smiles at me as I realize I’ve been staring at her smiling absentmindedly too.

Before Sarah can respond to the group or the offer of booze, Nicole jumps forward and demands “alright chumps, where’d the bottle land?”
