Dinner

We get back into the entrance room of the Guildhall and smell something tasty. I see Asami talking with Jessica at the table. There are a few plates full of food on the table. Asami turns to us, upon hearing Sparks running ahead of us. Jess shouts in surprise causing Marlo to run over to her.

"What is that?" She asks. She's not shouting, but she still seems worried.

"This is Sparks!" Luna says proudly while holding Sparks in her hands. She has her hands under his front legs. His white tail is dangling down toward the ground. He lets out a small roar causing Jess to step back.

"Sparks?" Asami asks.

"Yeah, we fought a Lightning Tiger and it had a cub. Luna tamed it and made it her Familiar." I explain while Marlo calms Jess down.

"Really?" Asami asks surprised as Luna sets Sparks down. She shows off her Familiar Mark. "Is he hungry? Also are they a boy or a girl?" Asami asks while sitting down at the table. The rest of us sit down and we start eating. I don't swap back to my normal clothing since the others are still in their armor.

"Sparks is a boy. Also are you hungry Sparks?" Luna asks her Familiar who nods their head. She grabs him and rubs her face against his. "You're so cute Sparks!" She says while Asami disappears. She returns a few moments later with a plate of raw red meat.

"Here Sparks, I got some tasty Lizardman Meat." Asami says while placing the plate on the ground. Sparks jumps out of Luna's arms and starts eating.

"Asami what time is it?" I ask before stuffing some more food in my mouth.

"It's a bit past six thirty. Why do you ask?"

"I wanted to see if we could visit Strom and Lander today. I'm not sure if I'll have time in the next few days." I say and she nods.

"I get Strom, but why do you need to see Lander?"

"We found a small chest locked with another Magicallium lock. Since he unlocked it last time, I wanted to ask if he could again." I say while taking my phone out. I send Kallen a text, asking if I can meet with Strom and Lander. I say I have something I'd like to ask them, but since I don't know their numbers, I'm asking him. I also ask if he could ask them when they're available, so I can let Luna go alone if needed.

"Speaking of, how did the Ruins go?" She asks causing me to walk her through what happened. She seems surprised that I took a backseat, and only supported after the first room. "Marlo, Irene, how'd you two like the weapons?" Asami asks once I finish.

"I hate to admit it, but it was amazing. It normally takes years of training to see this much improvement with magic. It feels odd, just suddenly becoming stronger like this." Irene says.

"I agree. Not only did it improve my Wind. But it's much easier to carry. It's a real pain carrying a spear through tight areas in Dungeons. Not to mention the fact that it has more mana, meaning I can cut through tougher surfaces like scales with no problem." Marlo adds causing his wife to look at him confused.

"You used a new Spear today?" She asks him and he nods while lifting it up. He had it resting against the chair he is sitting in.

"Yeah, Eric let us try out some weapons he wants to sell to us. They're Mythical and they both boost our magic. This one boosts my wind and can grow or shrink." He says before demonstrating its ability.

"You let them use Mythical weapons?" Jess asks me and I nod.

"Yeah, as Marlo said, I offered to sell them the weapons. Asami pointed out that they could use this trip to the Ruins to test them out, similar to a test drive." I explain causing Jess to nod.

"How much did this test drive cost?" She asks me.

"Nothing, it was free." I reply confused.

"Y'know Eric, most Guilds would charge for using these weapons, even in a practice match. It could cost thousands just to test drive them." Irene says, stunning me into silence.

"Wha-Why?" I ask her very confused. Marlo lets out a laugh before answering.

"It's because, as Irene said, these weapons boost our magic. It could take us years to get our magic to the point where they boost it. Not to mention the mana overflowing from them. It makes you capable of things you never could before. For example, this Spear would bring my strength and magic to S rank, maybe even my toughness." He explains causing me to nod. I have a lot to learn regarding the Guild and its members. I think before Asami speaks up.

"Speaking about the weapons. I wrote up a payment plan and finalized the cost of them if you're interested." Asami says before looking at Irene and Marlo. The two nod, motioning for her to continue. "The cost for each is going to come to 80,000$. The Guild discount will take twenty percent off, lowing it to 64,000$. Since you're still in the trial period, the payment plan will be simple. We'll keep ten percent of all payments you receive and reduce the amount you owe. So if the work you did in the Ruins comes to pay 1,000, then we'll keep 100 and reduce the payment by 100. Once the trial period is over, we'll stop keeping a percentage of your payments. Instead, you'll have to pay a monthly amount. You can pay however much you wish. However, it must be equal to three percent of what's due. So if you still owe 60,000$, then you'd have to pay at least 1,800$. If you fail to pay this amount by the due date, you'll have to return the weapon. We'll return eighty percent of the total amount you paid, keeping the rest as collateral." Asami explains, surprising me since I was originally thinking of 50,000 thousand at most.

"Really!? Couldn't you sell this for at least double?" Irene asks in surprise.

"Yes, but think of it as an investment of sorts. We have high hopes for both of you. You're both experienced and knowledgeable of the Lyna world. We're not, and besides, I can tell by my Master's look that he thinks this amount is too much. Between us, Master is way too kind for his own good." She says causing me to scoff.

"You say that like it's a bad thing." I say causing her to chuckle sweetly.

"So, do we have a deal?" Asami asks while taking two contracts from her Spatial Pouch. She places one in front of Marlo and one in front of Irene. "Oh, I forgot to mention, but you will be able to keep and use the weapons as you wish. However, if they get stolen or damaged then it will be on you. We will try to get it back if it's stolen, but if we can't then it'll count as you breaking the contract. In this case, we'll return eighty percent of what you paid."

"Wait, I have a question." Jess says, stopping Marlo from signing.

"What is it?" Asami asks.

"Why are you taking ten percent during the trial period? Why not start the monthly payments now?"

"Because it's the trial period. Once this is over, you can just leave. This way you can't just pay it off now, while you have the Guild discount. We'll start the monthly payments after this, since it's much harder to leave a Guild after officially joining it." Asami explains causing Jess to nod. Marlo and Irene both sign the contracts and hand them to Asami. Asami has me sign them, before tucking them away.
