Chapter 59 by takacube
What's next?
Returning home and telling the family...
Trying to make sense of everything in your life only made your head spin more and more, even with the simple fact you were at home now. With Saunders' little trinket of information rattling in your head, you knew it was only a matter of time before your brain simply popped from having to try and come to terms with the reality now facing you: Jennifer Connors was basically Stephanie Burke, aka Amber Knights.
It took you a better part of an hour to explain to David and Tabitha what Saunders had told you, followed by another hour of consoling your siblings in the manner that you could, before dad came home and the three of you tag-teamed him. He was older, more mature, but you felt his pain, especially the look in his eyes, and as valiant as he was, you knew it was hurting him just as much as you three.
As night fell, you turned in and glanced momentarily at your computer before you booted it up and opened your browser to your bookmark list. A few more moments and you pulled up Amber Knights' official fan page. It showed several new photo sets, including one apparently on location out in the Keys (which explained why she hadn't really contacted you in a while). Even with the graphics, the image in front of you, the knowledge of what happened...instead of feeling aroused, you felt a bit sick...maybe even revolted...and you resolved to clear your head before coming back. How long that would take...well...

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
