Chapter 58 by takacube
What's next?
Go on your date (and not bomb!)
With your head spinning, you weren't sure if it was worth the effort to trying to figure out what you would say, or even if you could say anything at all, and you put the car into drive and pulled from the curb. You had, at random times in the past, had difficulties talking with your mother but it had never been like this. What would you even say to her right now? "Hi, mom, I know you're being a slut...but that's not your fault"? How would you even begin to explain what you learned to Tabitha or David? Did Dad know? These were too big a question to expect a teenager to be able to ask, much less understand, and you decided to try and not bother. Your mind, instead, focused on the past few days and how you had always been the one to reach out to your mom. She didn't call, text, email...hell, she didn't even bother to hold the conversation when it lapsed.
Maybe you already lost her?
****
Getting back home after dropping off Alison, you wondered how in the hell did you even manage to get through the date in one piece.
Throughout the movie and the subsequent dinner, your mind was split between trying to keep you from failing utterly miserably with the one girl you COULD get while the other part was busy lusting and pining after the one you SHOULD get. Did it even matter to you anymore that this was your mother? A large part of you wondered if Dr. Saunders' little divulging of what happened with your mother's mind being warped led you to view her less as the woman who gave birth to you and more as the horny, slutty pornstar used for jerking off to. Hell if you knew what the plot of the movie was that you saw. All you knew was that you let Alison pick it out for the two of you and you also let Alison choose where she wanted to go for dinner.
She caught you more than once a bit distracted but being your friend (and in the dark about your true conflicting thoughts), presumed that it was still hanging on your mother's "****", especially with the amount of families around you. As the nice friend that she was, she tried to make you feel better and gave you a lot of leeway (way more than you deserved, if you were being honest with yourself), and you were silently grateful you didn't really have to explain that your mind was picturing Amber Knights throughout the evening. Alison even gave you a warm, lingering kiss on the lips as you pulled to her house and she petted you on the thigh, smiling a little as she felt you twitch ever so slightly before she got out of the car and walked back in.
Did you ever stop to mention that the women in your life made you contemplate a life of solitude? That sounded good right about now...

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
