Chapter 1074 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Enjoy your morning.

You wake up still beside a real cutie. She happens to flutter her eyes open shortly after yours, perhaps from your sudden movements. With a groan, she sits up as you slide off the bed to finally fix your pants. She, however, looks like her mind is on another planet. Her stare goes beyond you, as if she sees nothing at all. The poor girl isn't a morning person it seems. But after her brain finally catches up, she smiles at you.

"It's not often... I feel so comfy sleeping in clothes," Eva mumbles in a voice more deep and rough.

"You goofball. Let's get breakfast," you reply.

She nods, immediately ready to eat again.

Though on your way down into the great hall and throne room of the central castle, you're briefly stopped by a certain shorter hooded girl who has a penchant for acting out her favourite manga, but is also your trusty spymaster. Ahead are many others enjoying food and morning chatter, though there are definitely some within Castle Phoenix who are better early birds than others. You're not surprised to see Niki hasn't come in yet, for example, and Eva likely wouldn't have if not for you. Amara is there though, as well as several others.

"Reporting in," Lynx says with a salute. "Information about what's been going on in Tivera lately."

"Oh yeah. Tell me about it," you say.

"Well, it seems love for the Hero-King Thadius has only grown since the Sports Festival. While it was sheer chaos, what we didn't see was even more troubling. Elok Daven of course didn't continue his wave of destruction. I don't think his plan was ever to kill everyone. It all ended up being framed in a way where Thadius appeared like a hero there to selflessly put himself in harm's way. I also don't believe that means Elok is dead either. A lot of rumours make it sound so, but I think it's more that Thadius fought him off, and now people see him as a Demon King Slayer of sorts."

"Wonderful. What about the queen? How's that been going?"

"You'll have to speak to Dix about that. I'm afraid I haven't asked."

Just then, a certain bee comes bumbling up to you looking rather distressed. Her vertically striped black and yellow dress looks tattered--torn at first, though it appears mostly burned, and perhaps damaged further in a frantic panic to put out said fire. It's already cut low on the back to make room for her translucent wings, though not it's nearly the same on the front. Her chest is covered, though with every dramatic movement as she speaks, the material is falling farther towards a malfunction. You swear you hear her audibly buzz as she shakes her small stinging abdomen. "Kyle, help!"

"What's wrong?" you ask, concerned.

"It's the magic stove. I've been trying to use it all morning, but it's the only thing in the kitchen not working at all, and when I tried to give it a kick, sparks flew and everything almost caught fire! I don't know anything about fixing this stuff. I only know how to use it."

"I'll take a look, but I'm no artificer either."

"Can I come too?" Eva asks. While her clothing is fixed enough to at least walk around without shame, clearly she isn't at 100%. Her hair is messy, her skirt is slightly misaligned, though at least she isn't popping out.

"Of course. Let's see what's up," you reply.
