Weapons

I turn back to see Luna and Innu looking at me expectantly. They're only a few feet away, and Luna's tails are wagging. Asami lets out a sigh as Irene and Marlo walk over to us.

"What's going on? Why did you just get a Dimension Door?" Irene asks, surprising me a little. I didn't think she knew what it was. Although thinking about it, she's probably seen them during her time as a freelancer.

"It's linked to some Ruins out in Colorado." I tell her causing Luna to growl and grab my arm.

"Let's go! I want to explore them!" She says while pulling my arm back and forth.

"Luna, you need to have patience!" Asami says, scolding Luna and gently smacking the back of her head. I see Innu look from Asami to me, wanting to ask to explore too but not wanting Asami to scold her.

"Why did you get Ruins?" Marlo asks, confused and surprised.

"We got them as compensation. A few days ago I got hit with Abyss magic from a government official. I was helping the Dryads who raised Liz. They had someone try to break their Pact and harm the forest and Dryads. So they gave it to me to compensate me for it." I briefly explain while Luna looks up at me with puppy dog eyes. I sigh before running my hand through my hair. "Okay Luna, you and Innu go get changed and we'll head out." I say causing her to jump and howl in excitement. Innu and her run to the changing rooms. "Irene, Marlo, do you want to join us?" I ask them causing them to look at me stunned.

"Are you sure?" Irene asks and I nod.

"Yeah, but if you don't want to, you don't have to." I reply.

"I'll come. Let me go get my gear." Marlo says before running upstairs. Irene nods and follows after him. Asami chuckles before walking over to me.

"Master, the code is 710268. I'd suggest not telling Luna or Innu. They might sneak off into the Ruins in the middle of the night." Asami tells me and I thank her.

"Asami, do you think it'd be okay to give Marlo the Wind Callers Spear and Irene Ishlaya's Dagger?"

"Maybe? They do use those weapons, and I'm sure they'd get more use out of them than the dust they're currently collecting. But..." Asami says before trailing off.

"Yeah, they're Mythical grade. They'd like that sure, but they might feel indebted to us then." I say causing her to nod. "Then what if I let them use them on loan? They can use the weapons and pay for them over time. That way they'll pay for them, but they can still use them. I was even thinking of giving them a sort of Guild discount." I say causing her to smile.

"That'll work then. I'm not sure if you've looked into this. But most Guilds don't just give their members weapons and armor like you've been doing. They make them buy it. Of course, they give them discounts since their members could always go to other sources for them."

"Really? I had no idea. I assumed all Guilds would give their members better gear." I say causing her to chuckle softly.

"Nope, they sell it to them. They do sometimes let them use them while they pay for it though. So it should be fine, just in case you should ask them." Asami says and I nod. I disappear to my Domain as I hear Luna come back. I walk into my blacksmith's workshop, where we've been storing the extra weapons. I take the Spear and Dagger and return to my Guildhall. Luna jumps on me as soon as I get back.

"Let's go!" She begs while pulling me toward the changing rooms.

"Hang on, Marlo and Irene aren't back yet." Asami says and Luna pouts. I go ahead and swap to my armor while we wait for Irene and Marlo. They come back down at the same time, running up to us. Marlo has a leather chest and pants on. There's some metal shining through and I can sense some mana from it. I'm not sure what it's made from. He has a spear on his back, with the spear's tip on the bottom, just a few inches from the ground. Irene has a robe on, and I can see some leather underneath. I can sense some mana in it but still don't know what it is. Her robe is flowing with mana though, making me a little curious.

"Sorry for the wait. I had to sneak in and grab my Spatial Pouch without disturbing my wife." Marlo says and I smile.

"It's fine, I had something I needed to grab first anyway." I say before Luna starts pulling me.

"Was it those weapons?" Irene asks while pointing to the Spear and Dagger I'm holding. She can see my Silver Vine Katana and Blue Lotus Dagger sheathed on my hip. She was probably wondering why I have four weapons. Although she did say she likes weapons.

"They're a Spear and Dagger that we got our hands on. I wanted to see if either of you were interested in them. The Spear boosts wind magic and can grow or shrink. The Dagger can be used as a wand, and boosts Ice magic." I say while holding the weapons up. "Oh, the Dagger is very cold, capable of freezing on attack." I add causing the two to look at them in awe.

"What our Guildmaster says is correct. He has a skill similar to Analyze, and he is willing to sell them to you. Oh, they're both Mythical grade too." Asami says, stunning the both of them to silence. "We'd sell them to you on a loan. You'd pay for them while using them."

"That's really great of you, but I can't. I'm still in the trial period." Irene says causing Asami to smile and clap her hands.

"Then how about this? You two can use these in the Ruins now for free, and return them after. That way you get a feel for them, and their power. While you're out I'll write up the bill, and finalize the cost and payment plans. We'll give you the typical Guild member discount, but if you decide to leave the Guild before you finish the payments, you'll have to pay for the difference too. However, we won't take it away if you do decide to leave. I'll make sure the payments will fit with your income too. We won't charge anything exorbitant." Asami says causing Marlo to smile and step forward. He grabs the spear before looking at it.

"Then you have a deal. I have no idea if I'll buy it. But I can't pass up the opportunity to use a Mythical Spear for free." He says causing Irene to sigh, but smile all the same.

"Then I might as well too." She says while grabbing the Dagger. The two store their other weapons in their Pouches before inspecting their new ones. Irene draws hers and sees the mist terminating from the freezing blade. Marlo makes his grow and shrink a few times to test it out.
