Chapter 396 by voidcaller17

What Will She Think?

Her Arrival!

"Master, I'm glad you made it!" Asami says as Liz and I enter the reception area. Anna is gone and the front doors are open. I can see Luna and Innu sparring outside. They're using their hands instead of weapons. "Oh! By the way master, Anna said that the dorms will be 450,000$. When do you want them to start?"

"Can they start once they're done with the arena?" I ask and she nods.

"Yes, but do you have enough?" Asami asks.

"Yes, and I'm sure we'll have some more soon." I say and she smiles with a sigh. Before either of them can ask me something, Luna runs inside.

"She's here!" Luna says happily before running back out. The three of us walk out and I see a silver car driving up toward us. It parks a few spaces to our left before a woman gets out of the driver's seat. A woman with long black hair steps out. Her hair stops a few inches past her shoulders. She has glasses on and has brown eyes. She's wearing a red T-shirt with a band's logo on it, but I don't recognize the band. She's wearing jeans and grabs a backpack from the passenger seat. She runs around to the trunk and pulls out a suitcase. She walks up to us as Asami walks over to her.

"Welcome Irene, my name's Asami. I'm the Guilds secretary. I can take your suitcase if you'd like." Asami says and Irene smiles.

"Thanks, but I've got it." She says before looking at the rest of us.

"My name's Liz, let me introduce the others." Liz says after a brief moment of silence. "The Twin-Tailed Wolf is Luna, and the Demonic Phenoix Fire Wyvern Hybrid next to her is Innu. These two are combatants who specialize in close quarters. Finally, there's Eric here, the Guildmaster." Liz says and I nod a little awkwardly.

"Yes, nice to meet you." I say causing Irene to nod.

"I thought you had something to do?" She asks curiously.

"I did, but I was able to wrap it up on time." I reply and she nods.

"If you'll follow me, I'll show you to your room." Asami says while stepping forward. Irene follows and I go with them. The others stay behind, so as to not overwhelm her or make her feel uncomfortable. I did stay back at first, but Liz pushed me forward.

"I hear your Guild has eight members in total. Who are the other three?" Irene asks as we get inside.

"The others are named Ramia, Harry, and Anna. Ramia is an Elf and an Alchemist. Harry and Anna are her adoptive human parents. They're the ones who taught her, and she's very skilled." Asami replies.

"Really? An Elf is skilled in alchemy? I thought they looked down on that kind of work." Irene says, partially to us but mostly to herself.

"They do, or so I hear. If it weren't for her parents, she might've too." Asami says as we reach the stairs. Irene struggles to get her suitcase up the stairs. I help her with it and she thanks me.

"What kind of magic does Ramia use? The rest of you too. It'll be helpful to know for future battles. But I'm mostly curious about Ramia." Irene asks innocently and Asami chuckles.

"I don't use magic. I have the Stigma of Truth so I can't. However, I do have a ring capable of summoning Souls. I can bring out a Minotaur and a Greater Twin-Tailed Wolf. Luna uses Ancient Beast Magic and Innu uses her natural magic as a Demonic Fire Wyvern. Until recently Ramia didn't use any magic, but Eric found a Spellbook for a lost magic known as the School of Alchemy. She's been obsessed with practicing it and researching what she can do lately. I'm a little worried for her health." Asami says as we reach the third floor. I notice Irene seems unfazed by the three flights of stairs. That's good, she might not get tired easily. It'll be good in the Ruins when we have to keep moving until we find a safe zone. I think as we approach the rooms. We come up on seven doors, numbered 1 through 7. There are three empty doorways, missing their doors past 7. That's because they're rooms we haven't furnished yet. We're going to ask Irene and the others if we're missing any furniture before furnishing them. But the doors are the only things inside the empty rooms. We just left them off to make it easier to move stuff inside and to make sure we know what rooms are unfurnished.

"Which one's mine?" Irene asks as Asmai stops.

"Whichever one you want. No one's using any now and they're the same inside. You're the first person who arrived." Asami says and Irene nods.

"I guess I'll take one then. But what do you mean the first to arrive?" Irene asks while walking to the door marked 1.

"We accepted seven people into the Guild when we accepted you. That's because we only have seven rooms right now. But we're looking to expand. Anyway, you're the first of those seven to arrive." Asami says and Irene smiles.

"Why is it that you're looking to expand and grow the Guild now? I'm just curious, but I know you've been getting more and more popular lately. I doubt you didn't have a bunch of requests before." Irene asks and Asami looks at me.

"It's because we only recently got the Guildhall. We didn't have any place for the Guild to gather beforehand. So if we did accept anyone, it would be difficult to meet up anywhere to talk freely. That and we were still new to the Lyna world and to just being a Guild in general. There was still some stuff we needed to figure out first." I say before she opens the door to the room. Inside is a small rectangular room, no bigger than the living room of my apartment. There's a window on the far side of the room with blackout curtains. Under it is a desk and chair. Next to the desk is a nightstand and a bed. The bed has a yellow blanket and a white pillow. There's an empty bookshelf with large shelves for storage. There's a light in the center of the roof.
