Kase's Departure Part 9
As the crackling flames danced in the darkness, casting flickering shadows across the cave walls. My gaze was fixed on Syvis. The soft glow of the fire highlighted her figure, accentuating her beauty. A mischievous smile must be on my face looking at Syvis while she was shyly putting my cock into her mouth while I pinched one of her nipples.
"WAKE UP, EVERYONE!"
Celeste shouts abruptly, waking up the others.
Syvis quickly took my cock out of her mouth and covered her breasts. Syvis fixed her clothes, and I put my cock in my pants. Shortly after, everyone was awake. Celeste's sensory skill detected an approaching group of adventurers. Celeste's voice broke the silence, ringing out with urgency, "They're coming! A group of adventurers approaches!"
"Ah? What's going on?" Arthur asked, confused, still half asleep.
"We have company," Celeste replied, "I sense several people coming from the bridge direction. I'm sure they are the members of Midnight Dawn."
"Everyone, grab your weapons and prepare for combat," Arthur spoke.
Everyone ran to grab their things except Syvis, who was in shock. Syvis fidgeted beside me, her nervousness palpable. I could sense the guilt and fear weighing on her heart. This is the first time I see Syvis have that expression. Syvis was totally paralyzed, looking as if she had been caught stealing.
"Syvis," I whispered, snapping her out of her trance, "You have to prepare for combat. You better drink one of your potions before we start, or you'll have trouble concentrating on the battle."
Syvis looked at me with an annoyed expression and, without saying anything, went for her things and got ready with her weapon to later drink one of the few potions she had left.
As all the members of Oblivion gathered around, Arthurs's voice rose above the clamor with an authoritative tone, "It's Midnight Dawn. Remember, we are stronger. Let's put an end to their interference once and for all."
Arthur, eyes filled with determination, tightened his grip on his great sword. "Valeria and I will form a defensive line, keeping their tanks occupied. Syvis and Gin, your coordination will be crucial. Give them no rest by attacking with your magic from afar. Valeria and I will take care of keeping you two safe. Celeste, be careful not to get surprised with a surprise attack. You are our only healer, and we will be in trouble if something happens to you."
"I know. You don't need to tell me that. Besides, it's just Midnight Dawn, so taking things so seriously is unnecessary. It would be a different case if they were Dark Dragons or the StormBirds."
"Don't trust yourself, Celeste," Gin spoke, "Midnight Dawn has members that are worth watching. Especially Dante."
"What Gin says is true. Don't be overconfident!" Arthur continued, "Diva and Elan will act as they see fit depending on what is going on in the fight."
"I'll take care of Seto so none of you get into my fight with him! If someone gets in, I'll kill you myself!" Diva said with a crazy look and licking her lips.
"O-Okay..." Arthur replied with a confused and disgusted expression.
Diva is obsessed with Seto. I wonder what the story behind that is.
Arthur continued, "Kase, you shoul-"
"Shut up!" I replied, "I'm letting you coordinate everything but don't try to tell me what to do."
With fear in his eyes, Arthur nodded, "I-I understand..."
I notice Syvis looking at me with a worried expression. I'm sure Syvis must be fearing for Darx's safety. Also, she doesn't want to face Darx, her boyfriend, in combat; her conflicted feelings must be gnawing at her from within. When Syvis saw that I was staring at her, she averted her gaze, her fingers nervously twirling a lock of her long red hair.
Valeria broke the awkward silence with her stoic expression unyielding and nodded in agreement. "We won't allow them to stand in our way. Once we get Midnight Dawn out of the game, we'll be closer to the finish line."
Elan, ever the charmer, flashed a confident smile. "Leave it to me. I'll dance circles around them and give them a taste of my claws."
We still had a few minutes before Darx, and his party reached the bridge.
As the battle drew near, Syvis and I found ourselves standing in front of the bridge, waiting for them to show up. I decided to seize this moment, to exploit her inner turmoil and sway her loyalty to my side.
"Syvis," I spoke softly, my voice laced with feigned concern, "I understand your apprehension. Darx is your boyfriend, after all. But we must face him as if he were our own worst enemy. It's the only way we can emerge victorious."
"You don't have to worry about me," Syvis said in a sharp voice.
I sighed, feigning sympathy while plotting my next move. "Syvis, we cannot undo the past. What's done is done. But at this moment, we must focus on the present, on our duty as members of Oblivion. Darx stands in our way, and-"
Syvis's eyes flickered with fear, "You promised you wouldn't hurt Darx, and I hope you keep your promise."
"I will keep my promise, but Syvis, "I leaned closer, my voice dropping to a low, seductive whisper in her ear, "You have a choice to make. Darx, the boy who cannot protect you or me, the man who can offer you everything you desire. Forget about him and choose me. Together, we can rise above all others. With me, you won't have to pretend anything."
Internally, I relished the thought of Darx's demise. This battle was the perfect guise, the perfect excuse to eliminate him. With him gone, Syvis would have **** but to turn to me. Even if I'm not the one to deal the final blow, if one of the others kills Darx, I can get away with it without the consequences of breaking my promise to Syvis.
Syvis with angry eyes but with a sad expression. I wonder if she was thinking that minutes ago, she had my cock in her mouth, and now she will have to see Darx. I know Syvis drank her potion in preparation for the battle, so my words won't affect her too much, but even so, this battle will be crucial to my plans.
The moment arrived. Darx, accompanied by his party, reached the bridge, and the confrontation began. I stayed invisible, watching the fight and looking for a good chance to kill Darx, but Syvis didn't trust my promise. Since the start of the battle, Syvis attacked Darx with her fire magic. Darx responded by protecting himself with his water barrier. What for many would be seen with Syvis attacking Darx, for me, was Syvis protecting Darx. With that constant attack of flames, Syvis kept Darx locked inside his water barrier. I or none of the others could attack Darx since Syvis's fire would hit us. I didn't expect Syvis to have that strategy saved.
Maybe she can fool others with that performance but not me. I've seen Syvis fight these days, and I know that if she wanted to, she could destroy Darx's barrier, but she's keeping her fire magic attack at the right level so as not to do it and, at the same time, preventing me from getting close to Darx.
As time passed, my frustration grew. Although our guild should be far superior on paper, the battle was even. I know well that although we are rival guilds, members of both guilds know each other and are even friends outside the battlefield. Arthur, who is supposed to be the leader, is putting on an even worse show against Dante than Syvis's show protecting Darx.
It's about time I reminded them that this is not a game.
I turned my attention to Dante. After Darx, he is perhaps the one who I despise the most. Ever since I fucked his sister Stella after she was trying to recruit me into her guild, he has been an obstacle with various other issues. If I can't kill Darx, then I'll kill him.
I prepared my attack, wanting to stab Dante in the back, killing him in one go, but Dante was not weak at all, and he reacted just in time, avoiding a fatal blow. In any case, Dante cannot continue in the fight.
"Who do you think you are to propose amnesty with enemies, Arthur? The one who gives the orders here is me, and I was clear with zero mercy." I said intimidatingly.
"KASE, NO!" Arthus screamed as he saw Dante's body fall to the ground, "Celeste, heal him!"
"No!" I said before Celeste helped Dante, "If you want to ally with them, just say so, and I'll take care of you personally."
Then suddenly, from above, someone fell directly against me. I managed to react in time and protect myself with my arm. The blow was so powerful that the entire bridge trembled, making cracks in various parts and covering the place with dust.
"M-Maiya!" I heard Elan say with a trembling voice.
Shit! I never realized that Maya and her party were close. I felt an intense pain in my arm, and I noticed that my arm was broken. Well, it shouldn't be weird. After all, I took a direct hit from Maya when I was distracted.
I came out of the dust, looking Maya directly in the eyes.
"Heal me!" I said to Celeste, making her heal me instantly.
Celeste has a rare skill that can heal any wound in an instant. However, she can only use it once a day. It is a skill that can get us out of difficulties. I would have liked to have her skill for later if I'm going to face Maya. Oh well...
As I thought, members of the Stormbirds began to appear from various sides. As an assassin, my class relies on fatal attacks from the shadows. Maya must have been watching the fight for a while, waiting for me to show up to make her move once I reveal myself. Damn bitch!
Darx and his companions ran from the place like cockroaches. Unfortunately, I can't follow him right now. In front of me is a guild that will really be an obstacle. And even more, I will have to face an S-Rank equal to me.
"Well, well, Kase," Maya taunted, her voice dripping with arrogance, "It seems we're destined to clash. I hope you're prepared to witness true power in action."
I gaze at her with an air of superiority, "Don't get ahead of yourself. Just because we share the same rank doesn't mean we stand on equal footing."
Maya smirked, "Ha! Don't tell me you're going to hide like a coward attacking from behind!? I have to say that your class goes well with someone with a cowardly personality like yours."
I chuckled, dismissing her words, "Oh, Maya, you are so full of yourself. What I enjoy the most is seeing the eyes of agony when deluded people like you are about to die. You will die with a stupid face, not knowing what happened to you! And I will say the same about you. Your class goes well with someone like you—brute **** for a brute."
Maya crossed her arms, a smug smile playing on her lips. "Is that so? Well, let's see how your little tricks fare against my Monk skills. You talk big, but actions speak louder than words. Let's settle this on the battlefield. I'll show you what true power is."
The attitude of my teammates is very different compared to the attitude they had against Midnight Dawn. They know that the opponents in front of us intend to kill us. There is no place to take things lightly. Even Syvis looks focused.
Arthur approached me and said, whispering, "Kase, we'll take care of them. Go back to the shadows and kill them one by one when you get the chance. It's best to save Maya for last."
"I know. I already told you not to tell me what to do." I reply.
Maya tried to attack me before I became invisible; however, I was faster using my skill and dodging.
[Silent ****]
The battle started. They were all fighting, putting their lives on the line. We are both A-Rank parties with an S-Rank, so it's not uncommon to see how even the match is.
[**** Blossom]
I increase my penetration attacks against physical and magical defenses. That will give me a better chance of a one-hit kill when attacking someone with [****].
Maya wasn't getting involved in the fight. She was waiting for me. Agnes mentioned to me that Maya and the StormBirds enjoy combat, and more than wanting to beat us to win the reward, they enjoy facing strong opponents. That can give me a good opportunity.
"Kase, if you are too affraid to face me one-on-one, then I will kill your companions one by one until you get out," Maya yelled.
Maya went against Diva. Monk possessed incredible physical power, and even Diva, who is a samurai, will not be able to counter her power. I don't know if Maya expected me to act to defend Diva, but I don't give a shit if Maya kills Diva. On the contrary, I went for her magician.
As expected, Diva was no match for Maya, and her chest was pierced by Maya's punch, causing a severe injury.
At the same time, [****].
I killed the stormbirds magician by piercing his heart, killing him instantly.
"Tsss!"
I heard Maya grouse, but I couldn't enjoy the moment because Maya's next target was Syvis.
I thought I would arrive in time to protect Syvis, but it wasn't necessary. Syvis, realizing the danger she was in, used a skill I had never seen her do before. She fused two of her summons, the summon of fire and the one of stone, creating a stronger one which protected her from Maya's attack.

[****]
After I saw that Syvis unbalanced Maya, I tried to kill her, but it didn't work. Maya dodged my attack.
"Ohh, so this one matters to you," Maya said with wonder.
I have **** but to fight Maya so she doesn't hurt Syvis. Maya possessed incredible physical prowess and disciplined technique. On the other hand, I relied on stealth and precise strikes to gain the upper hand—two contrasting styles.
As the battle began, Maya's first move was a powerful roundhouse kick aimed at my midsection. I swiftly sidestepped, narrowly evading her attack, and retaliated with a swift and calculated strike to her exposed flank. However, she swiftly blocked my attack with her well-honed reflexes. The good senses the beast-kind have is a pain in the ass.
Maya unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks, which I dodged by jumping back and throwing my dagger at her face, which she easily dodged. The summon fusion of Syvis at that moment attacked Maya giving me the opportunity to become invisible. Nice, Syvis! With a sudden burst of speed, I vanished into the shadows, blending seamlessly with the darkness. Maya's eyes darted around, searching for any sign of my presence.
"Don't you get bored of fighting like a coward!? Come here and fight head-on!" Maya was screaming.
Maya's unwavering focus and the sheer strength behind her blows were terrifying, and that considering she had not yet started using her best skills. Maybe it's time for me to start using my best skills that I've been hiding. I would have liked to keep them a secret from others, but given the circumstances, I have ****.
But before that, I tried to attack her again with the combination of [**** Blossom] and [****] while I was under the effects of [Silent ****], but she twisted her body, deflecting my attack with a well-timed block. The reaction of this bitch is incredible. An A-Rank adventurer, even if he is one of the best, would not have been able to dodge that attack.
My focus was solely on Maya. She uses her skills one after another quickly, often making powerful combos that don't give me time to breathe. Every strike, every movement was calculated, an intricate dance of skill and strategy. But amidst the clash of our weapons, something unexpected happened.
A dark, powerful presence enveloped the air, its suffocating weight pressing against my chest. It was a malice unlike anything I had ever encountered before, a **** that stirred an unsettling fear deep within my core. My instincts screamed at me to escape, to flee from the source of this darkness.
"W-What that fuck is this...?"
Everything began to shake. The bridge trembled violently beneath our feet, with cracks spiderwebbing across its surface. The world seemed to convulse in response to the overwhelming **** that loomed over us. Pieces of the bridge could be heard detaching and falling into the void. The monsters that look like bats that are stuck to the walls begin to fly in fear, hitting each other and knocking themselves out, falling onto the bridge and into the void.
Everyone stopped their attacks standing still, not understanding what was happening, just like me. It was as if the very fabric of reality had been torn, revealing a nefarious power that surpassed comprehension. Despite that, Celeste continued trying to keep Diva alive.
I-I don't understand what is happening. What is this? To who does this evil presence belong?
With each passing moment, the bridge groaned under the strain, threatening to give way under the weight of the unseen menace.
We have caused a lot of damage to the bridge with our combat, and with all this, the bridge will not hold. Then, as if fate itself had intervened, the structure crumbled beneath us.
A section of the bridge fell—the section where Syvis was.
"SYVIS!!! I yelled, rushing to her.
Syvis, eyes filled with terror, "K-KASE!!" She screamed as she fell with the bridge.
The thought of losing Syvis was something I couldn't bear. At that moment, I realized how much I love Syvis. I can't lose her. Without thinking, I jumped into the abyss behind her.
"KASE!!!" I heard Elan's voice scream as I fell.
In that freefall, I knew my skills would be tested to their limits. As I reached out, grasping for Syvis's hand amidst the chaos and darkness, a surge of determination coursed through me. I managed to reach her and hug her but now what? What can I do to survive this fall?
[Predatory Eye]
I used my skill in desperation that let me see even in dark places like this. I managed to see the body of some of the bat monsters still in the middle of the abyss. Is it the bottom of the cave? ...No! Other bodies continue to fall below those bodies, which means...
"Syvis, we are about to hit another bridge," I yelled in Syvis's ear so she could hear me, "Use your water magic to soften the impact!" I know the impact of falling into the water at this speed would be almost the same as falling on the bridge's stones, but I can't think of anything else.
Syvis, with the expression of someone who has not yet resigned to die, asked me, "How long until impact?"
Her question took me a bit by surprise, but I turned to look at the void once more and quickly calculated how much time was left before we reached the bridge.
"15 seconds!" I said.
Syvis summons her three element summons. Syvis purposefully summoned the water and earth summons below us so they would fall onto the bridge before we did. Then the Fire Summon was with us, just under us, and started to release a thin but very powerful flame of fire.
I get it, she's using fire propulsion to reduce the speed with which we're falling, but still, I don't think it won't be enough.
When we were about to hit the bridge, I hugged Syvis tightly.
"Shit!"
*HIT*
......
The impact was painful but not as much as I thought, and even more so, I am alive. What just happened?
When I opened my eyes, I was wrapped in soft sand. Syvis must have created an area of this soft sand using her water and earth summons. I can't believe Syvis thought of that. When I turned to see her, Syvis was ****. After making sure she was okay, I carried her out of the sand trap that she had created.
Turning to look to the side, I saw the shattered body of one of the StormBirds members. Poor bastard.
I don't know what surprises me more, the fact that I risked my life for Syvis or the fact that we are alive. I put Syvis on the ground waiting for her to wake up, but that's when a good idea occurred to me. I guess risking my life deserved a reward.
I grabbed Syvis's magic bag. I took out some of her food and saved it in my magic bag, then threw Syvis's magic bag with all her potions into the void. We will be alone for several days until the rest reach us, and now Syvis will not have her potions.
Being alone with Syvis and without her potions is what I was looking for.
"I have won!"
