A strange remote and a syringe

Opening the package, you find a strange looking remote that only seems to have a dial with numbers from 0 to 5 accompanied by a syringe filled with a strange blue liquid, after takinng the items to your room, you also saw a note on the remote and the syringe which says, 'Inject the syringe into subject to allow assimilation' for the syringe and the other note for the remote which says that it is capable of making other people unable to see 'the results of assimilations', you wonder what these 'assimilations' mean as you ready the syringe, are you really about to do this ?
