A Gods Power

I raise my Katana and Dagger to block his attack. He raises his sword and slams it down. I put my weapons together and block, my knees buckling under the ****. He smirks before raising his left hand, his right is still pushing down on his sword. He gathers a ball of darkness in his hand. He starts bringing it down on me when a large spear of wind crashes into his side. It knocks him back and he slides to a stop. He looks up as Verona sends three more spears of raging wind at him. He smiles and reaches out. A small ball of darkness appears and he pushes it forward. It grows into a wall and easily blocks the wind spears. I start running forward while I cast Annihilation Thrust. My spell destroys the wall and a spear of darkness Kurdes was holding. He looks at me shocked before I jump. I swing my katana down on him, pressing my weight behind it. He blocks it with his own sword. I sense Verona getting another attack ready and jump up. I see three more spears of raging wind aiming at him. He creates another wall and I cast Annihilation Thrust again. I destroy his wall right before Verona's spears connected. He destroys one spear with his sword but the other two connect. As I land next to Verona it dawns on me that I should've added Verona to my party. I Observe Kurdes and see the two spears only did 2,300 damage. I sense Verona casing another spell and turn to look. I see she shoots two spears straight up into the air.

"What was that?" I ask while turning back to Kurdes.

"I was signaling to Bergeth." She says right before Kurdes starts laughing. He laughs loudly while stepping forward.

"That was a good warm-up. I'm really impressed Eric, I didn't think you'd be able to withstand my blade. You have a pretty good sword there. I'll make sure to give it to one of my new Devils after I kill you." He says before tossing his sword aside. It hits the sand, sending some into the air before disappearing. He then slams his palms together creating a loud clapping sound as Bergeth lands next to us. "Buso Kaijo!" Kurdes shouts. A ring of pitch-black smoke shoots out from his hands. It quickly passes us, leaving some behind on my weapons. The smoke runs down my blades and to my grips. They start swirling and an intense pain shoots up my arm, causing me to drop them. I hear Verona drop her own sword.

"Why'd you drop your weapons?" Bergeth asks. Before either of us can respond, Kurdes rushes us. I cast Ancient Beastial Strength and block Kurdes's punch with my Dark Claws. I can feel the **** of the impact vibrating through my arm. He jumps back as Bergeth lunges for him. Verona sends three more spears into the air before stepping back.

"Eric, I'm going to be honest with you. I'm useless in close combat without my sword. I'll support you from back here with my spells." Verona says before jumping back a few feet. I cast Flame King's Sword and Annihilating Weapon on my Dark Claws. A raging dark grey flame envelopes my claws.

"You're just full of tricks." Begeths says. "So, you got any plans for this guy?" He asks while pointing at Kurdes with his fur-covered thumb.

"Nope. We just gotta hit him until he drops." I reply and he starts laughing.

"That's a very vague plan." I hear the Headless Horseman say. I turn and see him jumping off his horse. The horse sinks into the sand and I notice his sword is gone. I turn back to where Gaia is and see Verona swapped with him.

"I disagree. I quite like this plan." I hear Lakey say and turn to see her appearing from a wave of water that's traveling up the sand.

"Of course a Fae would like it." The Horseman says with a sigh causing Lakey to glare at him.

"He's coming." Bergeth says. I see Kurdes rushing us. His arms are covered in dark energy. I rush to meet him with Bergeth. Bergeth blocks one of his punches with his arm. I jump over them and cast Ancient Beast Slash.

My attack hits Kurdes on his back. He flinches from the pain and Bergeth grabs his arm. He turns around and launches Kurdes back the way we came.

"HORSEY! CATCH!" Bergeth shouts and I see the Headless Horseman toss his head up. He pulls back his fist and slams it onto Kurdes once he gets close. The sand around him gets blown away from the ****. Kurdes falls to the ground and I sense him getting a spell ready.

"GET BACK!" I shout causing the Headless Horseman and Lakey to jump back. As soon as they do, several large spikes of darkness appear centered around Kurdes. They retract and I see a rope of water above it. It pulls back and I see it's holding the Headless Horseman's head. Lakey hands it back to the Horseman who thanks her before taking it.

"Why'd you toss your head like that?" Lakey asks.

"It's hard to use my full strength with it close. I need to create some distance." The Horseman quickly explains. I Observe Kurdes to see his HP. He's down to 24,895 HP. Close to half his max HP. But I'm sure he still has some tricks up his sleeve. I think before sighing. I get an idea and decide to try it. I rush forward, surprising the others. I sense Bergeth and the Horseman following after me. I see Kurdes ready for another punch and slide underneath it. I slide along the sand and reach out for him. I Multicast three Marks of Annihilation on his leg and hip. I lunge forward as Clairvoyance shows me an image of being impaled by several dark spikes. I turn back to see Bergeth and the Horseman in the air, two ropes of water holding them safely above the spikes.
