She only admits the attempted kiss

Maggie breathes in. She looks at Tanya, who's obediently sitting quietly. It's a little creepy, like a living doll. Maggie still hasn't made the connection that the strip club audience conditioned Tanya to love going down on her. It wouldn't be fair to tell Kyle about Tanya's natural kink. "I tried to kiss her," Maggie said. "Last night, and she rejected me. I don't know; she's been so nice because of whatever is going on with her head that I got carried away. I thought she might actually like me. Like...like me, like me. You know?"

Kyle is jealous. "We had a deal."

"We had a deal to treat her as a friend and not to condition her to, you know, be our girlfriend or whatever. We didn't have a deal to see if she had genuine feelings. She's just a mean bitch at heart," Maggie spiteful spits.

"Come on, Maggie," Kyle says, "we've seen a whole other side to her. Whatever is going on with her is from a deep desire to be a better person. She needs people to guide her, and this is her brain, I don't know, making it happen."

Maggie realized Kyle had witnessed most of the crazy things Tanya had done because of the conditioning. The wildest thing he's seen is Tanya wearing a trash bag. He didn't know what had happened at the strip club. "Maybe," Maggie replied, not wanting to reveal she knew so much more. "Listen, I'm sorry for putting you on babysitting duty today. I'll swallow my heartbreak as I have been for four years. We have the Anime Cosplay Con on Saturday, and I want us all, including her, to have a good time. After that, I don't know, I guess we should think about how to fix her."

Kyle sets his jealousy aside. Maggie was still, first and foremost, his friend way before Tanya showed up. "You know, if you want to tell her to...love you...I...I'm okay with it."

After Tanya left last night, she was so angry she had considered it. "I can't," she said. "I mean, we can't. The best we can do is make her a better person and watch over her until we figure out what to do." She wasn't sure if she meant that. If it looked like this was permanent for Tanya, she'd need a full-time caretaker. What better way to do that than to be her girlfriend?

Kyle also wasn't convinced. He still felt he deserved an opportunity to at the very least take Tanya on a date. He decides to go along with it for now. "Okay, but we should probably make sure she gets some lunch before class starts. Ready to bring her back?"
