Well, shit, Tanya," Craig says, "you're going to impressive lengths to stop me from beating up Josh here. Maybe he's not the only one; what did you ask him? Was he getting off? Is that it, Wegner? Are you a whore who gets off on being pushed around and bullied?"

Kyle is shaking his head. "Tanya, get off your knees and come here." He worried about the influenceable girl. "Did they hurt you?"

Tanya gets to her feet and walks over to her BFFs. Her head is spinning from the excitement. "No, I mean...I don't...they were just rude." Dino and Craig look at one another. Craig mouths, "Later."

Kyle and Maggie also exchange looks of "not good." Kyle says, "When you guys didn't show up for lunch, we figured we should come looking for you."

Dino laughs. "Too bad for Josh. I think Tanya was about to make a man out of him." Craig and Dino high-five.

Maggie scowls. "Tanya Wegner is under my protection, too. Got it?"

Craig spits. "For real? What has that bitch ever done for you, Maggie. She's given you more grief than I ever have. Oh, shit, wait, is it because of what you confessed to me last summer. Are the two of you? Fuck. What is it, Wegner? Do you have some fetish for geeks? Are you fucking..."

"Don't answer that, Tanya," Maggie says with her voice cracking. Tanya doesn't answer. Last summer, Maggie confessed to Craig she was gay, and Tanya was her first crush. Craig bringing that up especially stung after what happened last night. Her lower lip trembled. She grabs Tanya's hand. "Come on, let's go."

They march down the hall and away from the bullies. Tanya is silent as she interrogates her emotions. She was relieved Maggie and Kyle showed up when they did. Yet, why was she also a little disappointed and, most confusingly, hot with arousal?

Kyle is confused. Maggie didn't tell him about what happened last night. She didn't want him to know she'd violated their "Tanya is our shared friend" rule by trying to make it more. He watches as tears run down Maggie's face. "In here," she commands the four of them. They go into a study room that isn't currently being used.

"Except you, Josh. I need to speak to Tanya and Kyle alone. It would be best if you go see the principal about Craig and Dino," Maggie says. "Don't mention Tanya though because, uh, *sniff* it could hurt her rep."

"Oh," Josh replied, "yeah, okay, um, are you sure you don't need me?"

"Wait, Josh," Tanya stops him. She asks, "How can I help?"

Kyle whispers "Oops" under his breath before cutting Josh off and telling him they'd catch up later. He pouts but leaves. Kyle realizes he didn't specify offering to help Josh should have ended when they finished the lab experiment. When Josh is out the door, Kyle tells Tanya she doesn't need to keep asking Josh if he needs help.

Maggie looks at Tanya. "Kyle and I need to talk, but you should sit there, be quiet, and don't listen until we tell you 'listen.'" Tanya sits quietly and doesn't respond. Maggie assumes the command worked and turns her anger toward Kyle. "Did you do this to her?"

"No! Well, I mean not intentionally. I thought it was just a simple safe command to make her nicer to Josh. I didn't mean for it to go beyond helping with the Physics lab."

"I told you this morning you needed to watch out for her while I dealt with some personal issues." She scolds. "You need to be careful. The only conditioning, for now, is undoing any bullshit other people unknowingly put on her."

"What about you, Maggie?" Kyle isn't keeping it in anymore. He knows something is up between the two of them. "What did you do last night when she stopped over to try on the costume? You've been avoiding her and started crying as soon as you saw her. You're hiding something!"
