Chapter 327 by voidcaller17

So Soon!

Chaos!

I walk outside after talking with Asami and Verona some more. I see Luna, Innu, and Myla sparing.

"Alpha! Do you want to join us?" Luna asks and I shake my head no.

"Not right now. I'm just going to take a walk. Where'd Hino go?" I ask and she points down to my ocean.

"She went to practice with her gauntlets." Luna replies and I thank her. I walk down to my ocean to check on her. That and I'm curious how she's progressing. When I get there, I see Lakey talking with Hino. I walk up to them and call out.

"Hey Hino, how's your training going?" I ask and she turns around.

"It's going great. Lakey's been a big help. She's been teaching me." She says and I nod.

"I didn't think she'd teach you, no offense Lakey." I say and the Lady of The Lake smiles.

"None taken, but why didn't you think I'd help her?" She asks.

"I didn't think you'd be able to. You seem to control the mana in the water. I didn't think you could help her much with her gauntlets." I reply and she looks at me surprised.

"That's an impressive eye you have there." She says before stepping back and putting her hand on Hino's shoulder. "But the ability that allows Hino to control water comes from the Kraken blood in her Gauntlets and Boots. They control water the same way I do. Her ability to control them is basically the same as mine. The only real difference is that I was born with this, and she can only use it while wearing them." Lakey says and I nod.

"How's your training going Hino?" I ask and she smiles.

"It's been going a lot more smoothly thanks to Lakey. She's been able to answer most of the questions I have." Hino replies and Lakey smiles proudly.

"You said most? What questions couldn't she answer?" I ask and Lakey's smile vanishes.

"She asked why water here was easier for her to control. I hadn't noticed before, but the water here seems to respond positively to our manipulation. It's almost like the mana is trying to help us control itself. Normally when we control water, we have to manipulate the natural mana in the water. But here that natural mana seems to align itself with ours easier. It's hard to put into words." Lakey says and I nod. I remember how the natural mana came from Prisma. I wonder if my Domain's mana is helping them because of Prisma. Or maybe it's trying to help me, but it can't discriminate between me and others. I think before sighing.

"That is odd." I say before checking my timer. I see I have fifteen minutes and excuse myself. Hino goes back to training and I walk back the way I came. I look back and see Hino jumping out of the water. She makes it about fifteen feet in the air before the water shoots up in a pillar and catches her. I take my time walking back to the farm. I get back with two minutes remaining and see Verona here. She's holding a book in her hands and writing something down.

"Hey Verona, what are you writing?" I ask while greeting her.

"Hey Eric, I'm writing down what I see. Observation is important for research." She says and I nod. "How much time is left?" She asks.

"There's one minute and forty-four seconds left." I say and she nods. She continues writing before pausing.

"Eric, have you ever harbored any hate toward me?" She asks, catching me off guard.

"No, why?" I ask her and she turns to me.

"Well when we meet, I fought you. After that, I put a teleportation mark on you. Not to mention how annoying I can get with my desire for knowledge. I know how annoying and rude it can get when I keep trying to observe your magic." She says and I sigh.

"I don't think it's rude. I mean, I can see how it could be. But I know you don't mean it. You're just trying to learn more. It's not any different than when Luna randomly jumps me trying to get me to spar with her. And it's not like you were trying to kill me when we fought. I mean, I'm sure you would if I didn't use that spell. But you had good reasons." I say and she pauses before turning around. We stay silent for a while until the plant grows. It glows with a dark black light with streaks of bright red running through it. The light grows and takes a different shape. It turns into a bush with a bunch of small flowers on its many branches. I Observe them and read the description out loud for Verona.

Chaos Cotten, Mythos Material

This Cotten was made of pure mana. It can be used to make an incredibly tough and durable thread. Any items made with this thread will need to be Enchanted with their user's blood. This will bind it to them and change the effects of the item. The effects will change to best fit the persons whose blood it is Enchated with. Only that person will be able to wear the thread. This Cotten grew thanks to the blood of a Mythos. Only Mythos can wear or wield items made with this unless the other items used lower their quality enough. It can be used for Alchemy, at which point anyone can drink it. However if normal Lyna drink it too often, they will die from it becoming toxic. Once harvested, the plant will regrow within twenty-four hours

I start harvesting the Cotten while Verona writes down what I told her. After collecting it, I check and see I have 30 bundles of cotton.

"Do you know what you're making with this?" She asks and I nod.

"Yeah, I have a good idea." I say and she nods. I take out two bundles of the Chaos Cotten and offer them to her. She happily takes them before running off. I walk back to the Cabin while looking through the L-Market. I look at the Magic Cores for sale. I don't see any good ones here so I open the Guild Leader side of the store. I do so on more of a whim, doubting they'd sell Magic Cores as a restricted item. But I find a surprising amount of Cores for sale. I find one that's perfect for what I need and buy it along with two pieces of Enchated Steel for 35,000$.

What Are You Making?
