Fears End

I land on top of Fear and jump back. I do so to avoid his black energy trying to grab me. He gets up and uses his energy to heal. I rush forward, much faster now thanks to my Werewolf transformation. Fear raises his sword to block and I throw a punch. I connect with his blade and knock him back. I punch his now-exposed chest and he flies back a few feet.

He gets up and coughs blood. I look over and see Verona looking up at me. I sigh with relief as the others run over to her. I can hear what she tells them but don't catch what they ask.

"Don't get closer. His sword can kill you with a single cut." She tells them as I turn back to Fear. He's healed back up and lunges for me. I run for him and throw a punch at his head. He blocks with his sword but can't cut through my claws. I'm unsure if he could cut my fur, but I'm not planning on finding out. I step back and raise my foot in a high kick. I kick his chin and he fumbles backward.

Black energy shoots from the ground around me. I jump up before it can envelop me. Fear shoots out of it and flies for me. I cast Ancient Beast Slash and send it at him. He stops and tries to dodge but can't in time. The five slashes cut through him, but don't go above his chest.

I fall to the ground in shock. I feel the wind stop me before I crash and I smile. I see Fear has fallen to the ground and is still. I walk over to him as he slowly gets up. A mass of black energy engulfs him and condenses around his sword. It starts dripping with his energy and he raises it up. He lunges for me and I pull my arm back. I use up the last of my mana casting another Ancient Beast Slash. I hold it as dark brown energy drips off my hand. I slash forward as Fear brings his sword down, both my spell and my claws hitting his sword. I feel his sword give way and snap under the pressure. my Slash continues and cuts off his head. He falls back as his sword falls, separated into two pieces.

I sigh with relief as the execution of losing all my mana hits me. I step back and get tackled/hugged by Luna I start petting her as the others walk over.

"We did it!" Innu cheers out. I see she's leaning on the Lady of The Lake. She's sweating and seems exhausted.

"Yeah, now let's get back. We need to get your arm treated soon." Sugano says while looking at Kallen.

"Wait, before we go back Eric and I need to go grab something first." Verona says.

"What are you grabbing?" My gramps asks.

"We need to grab the sealed Demon God. This won't end until we kill him." Verona says and the others remain silent. "Let's go Eric." She says as the wind lifts me up. She carries us back to where they first appeared. Back to where Innu first destroyed the castle. We enter the room I came from, with the large stone table. "Can you use your inventory like that?" She asks and I nod. "Then store the book away. It's a Sealing Spellbook. You'll need it to unseal the Demon God. The orb there contains the God. But don't touch it. He can interfere with those who touch it." She says and I nod. I store the book away as she uses her wind to pick up the orb. She pulls out a box covered in Runes and puts the orb in it. "If you're wondering, I made this box a while ago. I figured we'd come here sooner or later. I made it to store him until we were ready to fight him. It'll prevent him from seeing and interacting with the world around him" Verona says while putting a lid on it and I nod. We walk back out and the wind carries us back. When we get back, I see Eimbis and Barai are back to normal. "Are you guys ready?" She asks the others who nod.

"Wait!" The Headless Horseman says. "Eric, I'd like to collect my payment early. Don't worry, our Contract is still in effect. But I'll be able to use Strengths corpse to grow stronger. Is that alright with you?" They ask and I nod, unable to talk in my wolf form. "Then I'll be off. Call me when you fight the Demon God." He says before disappearing in a puff of smoke along with the Devil of Strength's body. The Lady of The Lake steps forward.

"Eric, I'd like to talk about our Contract as well. Come talk with me at your ocean when you get the chance." She says and I nod again. She disappears, her body turning into water and vanishing in a swirl. Verona looks around before the wind envelops the ten of us. We appear back in the meeting room they came from. Myla, Hino, Claire, Gaia, and several people wearing white uniforms with a green plus sit at the table. They all jump up when we appear. The people in uniform run over and take a look at the injured. I see them start cutting away at the straps connecting Kallen's shield to his arm.

"I know we need to talk, but we should rest first, is that okay with you?" Verona asks them and they all nod.

"Yeah, that works. Besides, it's not like Eric could talk now anyway." My gramps says.

"We'll come back tomorrow then. Good night." Verona says before taking Gaia's hand and the two disappear. I nod and enter my Domain along with Innu, Luna, Eimbis, and Barai. I find Ramia and Asami waiting for us. Verona is sitting on the couch next to Gaia. Innu and Luna tell them what happened and I go to the bedroom. Innu and Luna join me and we fall asleep quickly.
