Time To Slay Some Devils!

I get my weapons ready as the five Devils land. They land ten feet away and take a moment to look at us. We've split up into five groups, but we're still close to each other.

"It looks like you're ready. Let's get this over with. Leave the boy to me, kill the rest." The Devil of Fear says. The other Devils rush us and the others attack. Sugano fires a small ball of water at the Glass Devil. The Lady of The Lake gathers some water from the garden and turns it into a spear. She launches it at the Devil of Seduction. The Headless Horseman and my gramps rush the Devil of Strength. Bergeth lunges for the Spatial Devil. He moves faster than the others and is the first to reach the Devils. He punches the Spatial Devil, who distorts the air in front of himself. Bergeths fist goes through the air and hits the Devil. He launches the Spatial Devil back, causing him to get knocked off the rooftop garden. Bergeths arm sprays blood as his white fur turns crimson. Bergeth jumps and disappears, casing his prey. I see Innu and Luna have **** the Devil of Seduction about fifteen feet away. The Lady of The Lake is behind them, controlling two human-shaped bodies of water. Their arms extend like whips and attack relentlessly. Sugano, Kallen, Kagiyama, and my Baby Dragon Familiars attack the Glass Devil. She seems to struggle with their numbers, unable to attack all of them at once. The Headless Horseman is on the Devil of Strength. He's gotten off his horse and is straddling the Devil. He gets knocked off, dropping his sword. My gramps kicks the Devil on his head, knocking him back down. "I must say, I am impressed, Eric. You might stand a chance at killing us." The Devil of Fear says while clapping. "I didn't think you had so many allies who had this strength. I did expect Verona to get involved, but not these Spirits or Faye. I definitely didn't expect Bergeth to be here. Or those girls. I didn't think they'd get this kind of power." He continues while stepping forward. I'm about to lunge at him when Verona raises her hand to stop me.

"Wait, don't rush him carelessly. He's much more deadly than any of the others." She says and I notice she's sweating a bit. I nod and turn to the Devil. I Observe him while casting Ancient Beast Strength.

I can't see his level. Is he too high a level? No, if he were then Observe wouldn't show me his Title or Class. I think quickly before turning to Verona. She starts talking before I can ask anything.

"Don't bother trying to Analyze him. He gets his power from the amount of fear he consumes from others. He's amassed an incredible amount of it. It's also what he uses instead of mana. The only way for us to win this is to make him use it. He'll get weaker as he loses fear." Verona says and I nod. I aim my Dagger at him and cast Flaming Maw, just to test him. The flaming mask rushes forward and The Devil of Fear raises his left hand. He smiles as his hand gets consumed in black energy. It grows like in the hallway. He grabs my spell with a large claw and squeezes it. The fire disperses and disappears.

"Shit." I say with a sigh.

"Eric, let's take this to the air. We can let loose up there." Verona says and I nod. I take out my wings and fly into the sky. I see Verona next to me, faint green energy around her feet. The Devil of Fear follows us with pitch-black wings. He rushes me and his arms get covered in the black energy again. I dodge as he swings with both his hands. I cut into his leg as he passes by. I feel my blade go through his leg with little resistance.

He turns around and I look at his leg. I expect to see a stump but instead, I see his leg. Where his blood should be, the black energy is. It quickly retracts into his leg.

"He can heal!?" I say out loud, voicing my frustration.

"No, he can't. He's using his energy to reattach his limb. But that does consume quite a bit of his fear. We just need to keep hurting him. The more he heals, the weaker he'll become. But if we cut off his head or damage his brain, that'll kill him." Verona says and I nod. The Devil of Fear swings his left arm, covered in his energy. Four spears jump off his arm and instantly shoot out. Two go for me and two go for Verona. I easily dodge mine and fly toward the Devil. As I do Clarevoyance activates. It shows me getting my legs torn off by the two spears I dodged. I quickly tuck my wings away and fall a few feet. I take them back out as the spears pass my head. I aim my Dagger toward them and cast Icicle Lance. My Lances destroy his spears and I rush him again. Verona beats me to it and is already attacking the Devil. She's pressing her sword into his arm. Energy shoots off his arm and attempts to engulf her. She flies back and reaches out with her free hand. As she does a faint green energy appears under the Devil. Fear brings his arms to his head and a cacoon of black energy appears around him. As soon as it does, spears of raging green wind shoot into the cacoon. They press against the cacoon and give me an idea. I cast Annihilating Strike on my Katana. I rush the Devil and cut into the cacoon with my blade. I slice through it like butter.

As I cut into the cacoon I feel the wind change around me. It gathers behind me and the spears dissipate. I turn around to see a large spear forcing its way into the opening I made. The cacoon vanishes and I see the spear cut Fear in half. The spear impaled into his waist and separated his waist from his belly. The spear vanishes and Fear's energy pulls him together. He heals and turns back to us.

"This is getting annoying." He says while pointing to me.

"Careful Eric, I don't know what his Nuru is. Be on your guard." Verona says and I nod. Before any of us move, a loud roar draws our attention. It's very loud, to the point where I cover my ear. I look for the source and quickly find it. I see a large Dragon on the rooftop garden. It's covered in a mix of red and brown scales. It's as big as the other Dragons I've fought before. When it stops roaring I see Kallen and Kagiyama next to it. They're looking at it in shock. I check Eimbis's and Barai's icons and see they're gone. Instead, I have one icon. It shows a picture of the Dragon below me. It's named Eimbis/Barai. I'm snapped to attention by Clarevoyance showing me an image of Fear tearing my left arm off. I quickly dodge and get ready to counterattack.
