On The Way Home
With the Eastern Border now secure, Arerto and her party made their way back toward Castle Talia. Along the way the new queen settled more problems plaguing her lands. Such as hunting down a pack of wild beasts terrorizing a local village and dispatching some bandits roaming the countryside.
One well armed group bandits had the audacity to try and ambush Arerto's traveling party, but were quickly slaughtered. Once stripped of all valuables and back on the road, Arerto gave no more thought about the well supplied criminals. A shame since these were in fact not bandits, but warrioresses from the southern part of the kingdom. Someone very close to Queen Arerto had informed these fake bandit's mistress of the queen's whereabouts and movements, and then they were sent to eliminate Arerto and all who rode with her. Alas the plan seemed to have failed and Arerto continues to lives another day.
The Queen's party also visited many inns and taverns on their trip drinking the night away, while a good number of lucky commoners got to share the queen's bed for a night. A anti-pregnancy potion ready and waiting for her Majesty in the morning.
Arerto secretly wished being queen could be like this all the time: the traveling, fighting, drinking, and fucking. With none of the ruling, numbers and figures, or politicking. Soon Castle Talia could be seen in the distance, however Arerto remembered the rumors about the Northern Tribe. A decision had to be made.
