Bergeth's Return

I walk down the path, away from my cabin. I take out my wings and fly down to the ocean. I follow the beach for a while until I find a flat area devoid of trees behind it. I land with the ocean half a mile away, give or take. I sit down and focus on Bergeth. I open my eyes and find myself in the familiar darkness. I see Bergeth sitting in front of me.

"ERIC, ARE YOU BRINGING ME BACK NOW?" He asks, getting straight to the point.

"Yes, but I need you to put a bit of your blood on this." I say while taking out the Pact Liz made for me. "It's a Pact that will prevent you from killing anyone without either my permission or in self-defense. However, you can only kill in self-defense if there's no other option. It'll prevent you from just abruptly leaving too, at least until I can trust you." I say and he nods.

"SO IT'S A LEASH THEN?" Bergeth says and I nod.

"Yeah, something like that." I reply and he raises his paw to his mouth. He bites it and holds it over the paper. A drop of blood lands on it, covering a third of the paper. He moves his paw back and the blood turns into light. It rushes down the paper to one of the two lines on the bottom. Bergeth appears on one of the lines. I cut my thumb and do the same. My name appears on the other line and the paper gets engulfed in flames. Two beams of light appear from the fire. One shoots at me, hitting my chest. The other shoots at Bergeth and hits his large wolf head. The fire disperses and I turn to Bergeth. "Are you ready?" I ask and he nods. I see one of his nine tails shake as I leave. I sit up and cast Craft. I combine all seven of Bergeths Soul Fragments. I get Bergeths Soul from that and it immediately leaves my inventory. It floats out of my chest and into the air in front of me. the brown ball slowly grows as it gets further. It stops about ten feet away and gets enveloped in a ball of brown energy. The energy grows four limbs that keep changing. One moment they're long and all match. The next moment the arms are shorter while the legs grow longer. This keeps up for a minute before stopping as a head and nine tails sprout from the ball. The light shrinks down and turns into clothes. The clothes remind me of a kimono I'd seen samurai wear on TV. They're the same dark brown color the ball was. Under the clothes is a person. They have white hair and two white wolf ears. Behind them, nine white wolf tails take turns stretching. They take a step toward me and I notice they have wooden shoes. They look like flip-flops with a small wood plank for your feet. Under the plank is two small strips of wood. They have a flat chest and cute face. They're about five feet tall and I can't tell if they're a man or a woman.

"Bergeth, sorry if this is rude, but is your body a man or a woman?" I ask and they stop. They laugh and smile.

"I'm glad you couldn't tell. It's a man's body, but I made it look more feminine. People tend to underestimate women and assume they're weaker. So this should help." He says and I sigh. Bergeth's hundreds of years old, right? Should I tell him that times have changed? I should probably tell him that people don't view women as weaker than men, well most don't. I think before he starts waving his hand. "Eric?" He says and I step back.

"Yeah? Sorry I got lost in my thoughts." I say and he nods.

"I was asking if you could show me around. And introduce me to the others. I know of them, thanks to our connection. But I rarely spent much time looking through your eyes. So I don't know all of them or what your Domain is like, aside from the cabin." He says and I nod. I lead him down the beach and down the path toward the cabin.

"There are three islands up in the sky. All they have is some land, water, and fruit trees. Innu and Eimbis like taking naps up there. We recently started a farm behind the Cabin." I say before telling him what rooms my Cabin has. We get to the cabin as I finish and I see Innu, Asami, and Luna. They're sparing and Asami's using both the Minotaur and Greater Twin-Tailed Wolf souls. They see me and stop their fight.

"Master, who's this?" Innu asks as she flies over. Luna looks at Bergeth oddly. Like she recognizes him but can't remember him.

"This is Bergeth, I got the last Fragments of his soul earlier today." I say and Luna slams her fist on her palm.

"I thought you would be bigger? And not as... Cute?" Innu says bluntly. Asami gets ready to scold her when Bergeth starts laughing.

"That's the point! If I look like this, people won't pay me much attention. And since I look like a woman they'll assume I'm weak." Bergeth says and I sigh.

"No, they won't." Luna says and Bergeth turns to her.

"What do you mean?" He asks and she starts to explain while Asami and Innu nod. After she finishes Bergeth grunts or growls, it's hard to tell which. "Oh well, at least this form is smaller. It'll be easier to dodge." He says and I sigh.

"Well Bergeth, do you want me to show you inside?" I ask and he shakes his head no.

"No, after seeing them fight, I want to test out my new body." He says while turning to me. "So let's fight!" Before I can say anything the door to the cabin swings open. Verona runs out with Gaia behind her.
