Western District
We ran through a door that led to the Western District. It a district themed on the Wild West with saloons, those red mountain rock things and goldmines. There was also a haunted manor but even that wasn't safe. It turned out even ghosts can be killed. I saw some run outside, only to be slain by demons. The ghosts in there were merely mischievous, not malevolent.
I charged forward, taking a good swing at the line of advancing demons. As they were knocked backward and crashed into the others behind them, I began to run.
I didn't have a clue as to where I was headed. I merely decided that I'd go wherever instinct told me to. When I found myself confronted by a wall, I merely turned in whichever direction I could and continued. When even more demons were in front of me, I merely swung the Chainsaword left and right, slashing at them, and kept running.
Whether or not, those demons had been killed, I would probably never know.
Phoenix and I had gotten separated. Just then, I heard screaming coming from above. Confused, I looked up at the sky. I could see two figures, what seemed like a red and blue Oni, trailing their limbs in the air as they fell outta orbit.
They... They were coming straight at me!
I tried to move out of the way, but to no avail. Within moments, the two figures had fallen on top of me, and all three of us toppled to the ground. I gasped for air and groaned, trying to raise myself out from the bottom of the pile. I looked at the Chainsaword, clutched in my right hand, relieved that no one had landed on it. That probably would've hurt the something awful. Then, with a short glance at the Onis that landed on top of me, I groaned in pain.
"The Chainsaword!" they yelled in unison.
"We've been a'lookin' for you!" the blue Oni spoke excitedly, as they pulled themselves off me.
The blue Oni had a narrow white horn protruding from the centre of her forehead. She had long white hair tied into a ponytail and a toned but slender and voluptuous body with massive breasts. She wore a metal breastplate and gauntlets, a skirt and black boots.
The red Oni had long wavy black hair and two narrow black horns protruding from her forehead. She was dressed in blue robes. Atop her head was a blue hat, similar to a stereotypical witch that had two holes where her horns stuck out.
"For me?" I questioned, still incredulous.
"You have the Chainsaword the king wielded!" the red Oni claimed, as if it was a known fact.
I didn't have time to listen to them. There were attacking us.
I swung my Chainsaword viciously at the army of demons.
"Y'know, I think we oughta help him," the blue Oni said, grabbing onto her large axe.
"For once, you're right," the red Oni agreed, raising her staff.
The blue Oni whacked her way through the swarms of demons with her axe. As for the red Oni, she seemed to mostly stand back and cast magic spells.
"Look out!" she yelled.
There was a black knight.
I gripped my Chainsaword and stared at the knight.
The blue Oni ran forward, her weapon raised.
As she attacked the armour, its arm came off and flew at me and attacked me. It was joined by the other arm. I hit one of the arms with my Chainsaword.
The Oni girls had destroyed the other arm.
The legs and head on the armour also separated. Each wandered about of its own free will, attacking random people.
I destroyed the other arm. I ran for the next piece of armour with range.
The red Oni had destroyed one of the legs, and ran to the other one. The blue Oni whacked the leg with her axe.
I attacked the torso.
The red Oni destroyed the last leg with a thunder spell.
The torso had me pinned down.
The blue Oni whacked the torso with her axe.
Gripping the Chainsaword, I rose to my feet.
We would attack the torso alternately, having the blue Oni attack, then the red Oni, and then me. The torso had no time to counter, because as soon as one of us hit it, someone else would almost immediately attack it. Our blitz continued this way, the torso getting knocked around between us. Thanks to the two Onis, we were going to win. I don't think I have ever worked this well with someone else in battle.
Me and Duncan... Even if we worked as a team, we were still competing with each other. Trying to see who was better.
Who would reach our goal fastest. Who dealt the final blow. It was always a competition between us. I couldn't think of any exceptions.
The torso was destroyed. The head dropped to the ground.
